Job Title: Network Analyst
Location: Winnipeg, MB (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 6 Months
The Network Analyst is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and administering all initiatives for the company campus and data centre networks. This role acts as a subject matter expert on networking and provides advanced technical support and mentorship to the infrastructure team. They find solutions to complex problems in Data Centers Networking, Branch offices, Firewalls & Wireless platforms. Operating as a key member of the IT Infrastructure team, the Network Analyst works closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional IT teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure network solutions.
The Network Analysts work closely with the Information Security team in order to ensure security by design, ensuring that all changes meet strict compliance requirements. They will also work closely with the team of Infrastructure Architects, and Infrastructure Analysts to design and implement necessary upgrades, patches, or troubleshooting to solve the problems. They also document changes, designs and network inventory and follow all change management procedures.
Key Deliverables
Network Designing and Planning
+ Plan, design, and implement complex datacenter and campus networks to meet current and future business requirements.
+ Develop, design and document the client’s next–generation network.
+ Design and install network infrastructure, including on-premises systems and cloud networking solutions.
+ Produce recommendations to reduce design complexity, increasing uptime and scalability.
+ Evaluate and recommend network hardware and software solutions.
+ Develop network architecture diagrams and documentation.
Network Routing & Switching
+ Manage and troubleshoot complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 network environments.
+ Configure and maintain advanced routing protocols, with a strong focus on BGP for internet connections and WAN connectivity.
+ Optimize BGP path selection, implement route maps, and ensure routing stability.
+ Proficiently manage other routing protocols such as OSPF.
Network security & Compliance
+ Design and implement network segmentation and micro-segmentation strategies using firewalls and access control policies.
+ Ensure all network devices are securely configured according to industry best practices and company policies.
+ Work closely with the Corporate Security team to analyze, contain, and remediate network-based threats.
+ Collaborate with the security team to identify and remediate vulnerabilities on network devices and infrastructure.
Network Monitoring & Support
+ Define technical requirements for performance, scalability, security, and redundancy.
+ Ensure performance and availability metrics are tracked, managed and continuously optimized.
+ Monitor network performance and identify bottlenecks or issues.
+ Optimize network configurations for maximum efficiency.
+ Implement quality of service (QoS) policies to prioritize critical traffic.
+ Serve as the escalation point for complex network-related incidents.
+ Lead troubleshooting efforts during major incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
+ Plan and execute network maintenance, upgrades, and changes during scheduled windows.
Documentation
+ Create and maintain detailed documentation for Network infrastructure configurations, procedures, and best practices.
+ Keep an inventory of hardware and software assets.
+ Document network topology, IP addressing & Device configurations.
Collaboration
+ Proactively evaluate new technologies and participate in decision making regarding solving future technical issues and long-term technical direction.
+ Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to align network solutions with business goals.
+ Work with vendors and suppliers to procure network equipment and services.
Job Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
+ 5+ years of experience in managing, maintaining & supporting enterprise networks
+ Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting BGP networks.
+ Hands-on experience managing and supporting Palo Alto NGFWs or a similar solution.
+ Strong understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, VPN, SD-WAN).
+ Experience in managing, maintaining & supporting enterprise Wireless & Wired networks
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues under pressure.
+ Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
+ Thrives in a collaborative and respectful team environment and won’t shy away from working with others to solve complex problems.
+ Strong pride of ownership in your work.
+ Ability to problem solve and manage your time.
Core Competencies
+ Cisco CCNA or CCNP, Palo Alto PCNSE
+ Aruba wired & wireless Networking systems
+ Citrix CCP or CCE.
+ Experience with SD-WAN technologies.
+ Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure)
+ Ability to work independently and in a team.
+ Willingness to stay updated with industry advancements.
Working Conditions
+ Hybrid, working both in the office and remote.
+ Flexibility in creating your own schedule
+ This role may require participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours support, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
The Network Analyst will report directly into the Manager, Infrastructure, working with multiple members across the organization including but not limited to other Infrastructure Analysts, Architects, IT Operations, IT Security, Network Operations Center and Development.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$40.00 and CA$50.00
