Job Title: CAN – Operations Officer II – Bilingual
Duration: 6 Months
Location: 100 Wellington Street West, Toronto
Work Model: Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite


ROLE SUMMARY
The Operations Officer II supports the Commercial Credit Centre by underwriting annual credit reviews for targeted Commercial Banking borrowers across Canada.
This role involves detailed financial statement analysis, assessment of lending policy compliance, and contribution to borrower risk rating validation. The contractor will handle sensitive financial data and must operate with high precision in a metrics-driven environment.
The position is strictly back-office (100% operations work, not customer-facing) and requires strong independent judgment while collaborating with internal banking partners.
Approximately 20% of time is spent in internal meetings.


MUST-HAVE HARD SKILLS
• Bilingual – Fluent in reading and writing
• Ability to read and interpret financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
• Strong MS Office proficiency (Excel required)
• High attention to detail and data accuracy
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in credit, finance, or operations


SOFT SKILLS
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously
• Clear and concise communication with internal stakeholders
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational skills
• Comfortable working in a high-volume, high-pressure environment


NICE-TO-HAVE
• Finance or Accounting educational background
• Commercial banking or credit experience
• Prior exposure to underwriting or credit review processes


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Credit Review & Financial Analysis
• Underwrite annual commercial credit reviews
• Analyze borrower financial statements for accuracy and completeness
• Assess adherence to lending policies and procedures
• Support risk rating assessments

File Management & Productivity
• Manage multiple borrower files concurrently
• Meet daily productivity targets
• Ensure high data entry accuracy and quality standards

Stakeholder Collaboration
• Communicate with internal Commercial Banking partners
• Provide clarification and resolve financial discrepancies
• Participate in internal review discussions

Operational Compliance
• Maintain confidentiality of borrower financial data
• Follow internal policies, procedures, and documentation standards
• Ensure work is completed within defined turnaround timelines

 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$22.00 and CA$26.00
