Job Description
As a Demand Planner, you will directly support Supply Chain delivery and cost performance for our client. Demand Planners are responsible for gathering data to create a forecast to support budget management, validate demand from different sources, create requisition plans and manage inventory levels including surplus and obsolete materials. As a demand planner, your goal as part of the supply chain procurement team is to have the required material available for the shipyard above 98% in line with agreed fulfillment, purchasing and storage strategies. Reporting to the Demand Planning Lead, this role will collaborate with engineering, planning, procurement, production, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Timely management of items that require demand planning assessment in the material disposition and issue trackers, closely coordinating with other demand planners for parts that urgently need to be purchased in accordance with production plans.
- Management of the manual requisition process for (CAT C and D) purchased part material deficiencies for the program
- Assess, support and process urgent material transfer requirements requested by production to minimize the risk of shortages that would significantly impact the build for each program, including coordination of approvals from internal stakeholders as part of the transfer process.
- Support other demand planners by identifying trends, recommend adjustment of safety stock levels, minmax or reorder points based on analysis of emergent demand.
- Identify disconnects to supply and demand and collaborate with other working partners to align validated data through change processes in place.
- Perform analysis work on parts under your scope in addition to reporting and/or other duties as assigned and/or requested to support current projects.
- Support in the development of demand planning processes and continuous process improvement.
What you’ll bring
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ proven experience in demand planning/forecasting/supply chain/inventory management or related field
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, such as Supply Chain Management, Business, Mathematics or Economics
- Manufacturing or production line experience in multiple industries and commodities.
- Advanced skills in excel for complex analyses, experience in Power BI highly regarded.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with MRP software and tools.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional teamwork.
- Data-driven decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail oriented, quality and precision focused, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated diligence and ability to follow through on all commitments.
- Demonstrated ability to take the initiative to gather feedback to identify needs and challenges.
- Ability to work well with all levels of the organization.
- Experience with six sigma methodologies, concepts and tools would be an asset.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$36.00 and CA$53.00
