Job Title: Platform Engineer
Role Overview
The Platform Engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise transportation management solutions, with a strong focus on Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS). This position combines technical expertise, governance oversight, and business analysis skills to ensure robust, scalable, and compliant solutions that meet business needs.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with experience in software development, system integration, and platform governance, capable of providing guidance to development teams, driving best practices, and ensuring successful delivery of complex requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Design & Development
- Design and implement platform solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and business requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to development teams (language-agnostic), ensuring adherence to coding standards and governance practices.
- Collaborate with other technical experts for language-specific code reviews when required.
- Governance & Compliance
- Ensure proper governance processes are followed for platform changes, including ESPs and RFCs.
- Act as a subject matter expert for CTC-specific standards and compliance requirements.
- Adhere to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Business Analysis & Problem Solving
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions, identifying system impacts and gaps.
- Act as a Senior Systems Analyst to investigate issues, propose solutions, and ensure timely resolution.
- Take ownership of requests and drive them to completion, regardless of complexity or type.
- Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and business stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members on best practices and platform capabilities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Required:
- Proven experience as a Senior Developer or Platform Engineer in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of system integration, platform governance, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Ability to lead technical discussions and provide guidance to team members that are junior and/or without knowledge of the platform.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex requests.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with Agile methodologies.
- Advantageous:
- Knowledge of Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS), including function, configuration and Agent development.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring boot, JavaScript, React, Angular, Terraform.
- Familiarity with CTC processes, including ESP and RFC management.
- Experience in supply chain or logistics systems.
- Experience with Azure cloud services.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$81,000 and CA$131,000
