Job Title: Powerapps Developer Location: Tiverton, ON (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 12 Months
Power Platform Developer (Digital Transformation)
Role Overview
We are seeking an intermediate Power Platform Developer to join a specialized Digital Transformation team within the energy sector. This is a high-impact, long-term opportunity working within an established team of developers.
You will report to the Project Lead while receiving technical mentorship from the Senior Lead Developer. The role is focused on clearing a backlog of applications and data tools that integrate the Microsoft Power Suite with SQL backends.
Team & Project Dynamics
-
Security Clearance: Active security clearance is highly preferred for an immediate start.
-
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (starting with more frequent on-site days for team integration, transitioning to 2 days in-office / 3 days remote).
-
Duration: 1-year initial contract with long-term viability.
-
The “Deal Breaker” Requirement: You must be able to demonstrate the technical ability to bridge front-end and back-end systems. Specifically, you must be able to explain or demonstrate how to write/patch data from a PowerApp to a SQL database.
Technical Requirements
-
PowerApps: 1.5–2 years experience. Ability to build Canvas and Model-driven apps that are flexible and user-centric.
-
Power BI: Parallel development of dashboards to visualize data managed within the apps.
-
SQL & SSMS: Professional experience managing databases; you will be expected to work effectively with SQL Server Management Studio within the first two weeks.
-
SharePoint: 1 year experience using SharePoint as a collaborative environment and data source.
-
AI (Bonus): Familiarity with Microsoft’s AI integrations (Copilot/AI Builder) within the Power Platform is a significant plus.
-
Certifications: Microsoft certifications (PL-100, PL-200, or PL-300) are a bonus, but hands-on experience is the primary requirement.
Core Responsibilities
-
Full-Stack Power Dev: Develop integrated solutions where PowerApps, Power BI, and SQL work in tandem.
-
Agile Support: Work within a flexible team environment; you may work independently on specific apps or collaborate on larger deliverables.
-
Problem Solving: Act as a self-starter who can figure out solutions independently. The team values “smart people who figure things out” over those requiring “start from scratch” training.
