Job Title: Procurement Engineer – Nuclear

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer to support the sourcing and procurement of technical materials, components, equipment, and services for complex nuclear engineering projects. This role works closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and suppliers to ensure technical, quality, schedule, and regulatory requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Design Engineering to define technical specifications, materials, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Review engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and supplier technical documentation.
  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on manufacturing capability, quality systems, capacity, and risk.
  • Perform technical evaluations of supplier proposals and quotations.
  • Support strategic sourcing and make-or-buy decisions for engineered components.
  • Resolve technical and manufacturing issues with suppliers.
  • Assess supply-chain risks including single-source dependencies, capacity, and material availability.
  • Support supplier development and performance improvement.
  • Ensure procurement activities meet applicable nuclear quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor junior Procurement Engineers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • 10+ years of technical procurement, supplier engineering, manufacturing, or related experience.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, forming, fabrication, and welding.
  • Experience evaluating and qualifying technical suppliers.
  • Strong supplier and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience with ERP/procurement systems.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical evaluation skills.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Canadian nuclear industry experience.
  • Familiarity with CSA N286/N299 and nuclear supplier quality requirements.
  • Experience with Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD).
  • Supplier audit, source surveillance, or inspection experience.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, welding, fabrication, and material specifications.
  • Experience procuring nuclear-grade or safety-related components.
  • OPG, Bruce Power, or CNL project experience.
  • P.Eng. designation.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$90.00
