Job Title: Procurement Specialist (IT)
Location: North York, ON (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 6 Months
Role Overview
The Procurement Specialist leads full-cycle procurement for enterprise IT contracts. This includes software, cloud services, cybersecurity solutions, managed IT services, system integrations, and technical IT consulting. The role manages sourcing, negotiations, contract awards, vendor evaluation, procurement planning, and process improvements, with a focus on delivering secure, high-quality, and cost-effective IT outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end procurement for enterprise IT and technical service agreements.

Develop sourcing strategies aligned with IT portfolio and project objectives.

Research vendors, assess rapidly evolving IT market trends, and apply industry best practices.

Plan procurement activities and maintain schedules in MS Project.

Prepare commercial documentation for RFP, RFB, NRFP, RFI, vendor pre-qualification, and non-competitive IT approvals.

Review non-competitive procurement cases, negotiate terms, and finalize agreements for approval.

Validate proposals for commercial compliance, lead consensus evaluations, and document scoring rationale.

Perform IT vendor reference checks, security due diligence, and risk assessments.

Serve as the central contact for vendors during active procurement.

Manage Q&A, issue addenda, and ensure responses are communicated before bid closing.

Chair vendor interviews, demos, presentations, and negotiation meetings when required.

Draft commercial analysis and IT contract award recommendation reports.

Review service requirements including statements of work, licensing, SLAs, security, architecture, and compliance terms.

Identify IT procurement risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Coordinate contract awards, purchase orders, and final executed agreements.

Support internal teams by solving procurement issues and ensuring milestones are met.
Required Qualifications
Experience
-
Minimum 3+ years of procurement experience supporting enterprise IT, software, cloud, or managed IT service contracts.

Ability to manage IT procurement independently with high accuracy.

Experience in sourcing and negotiating across IT infrastructure, SaaS, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, or IT consulting providers.
Knowledge

IT sourcing best practice, contract and tendering law, and vendor evaluation frameworks.

Strong understanding of IT architecture, licensing models, SLAs, data security, and cloud contracting principles.
Technical & Soft Skills

Excellent written and presentation skills.

Strong influence, listening, and conflict-resolution skills.

Ability to manage shifting priorities and urgent information requests.

Proficiency in office software including Microsoft Office.
Education
-
Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Commerce, or Supply Chain Management
(Equivalent mixes of education + IT procurement experience accepted.)
Assets
-
IT procurement or supply chain certification.

Experience managing binding/non-binding IT procurements.

Experience facilitating confidential or technical vendor consensus evaluations.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$50.00 and CA$90.00
