Story Behind the Need
– Business group: The GBME- FICC & Equity Trading Technology team is a crucial part of the Global Technologies Applications Group that support the Global Banking and Market business. This is an opportunity to work in the fast-moving and exciting world of Capital markets. We are looking for an energetic and strategic thought member with Capital Market Trading & Technical background to join this dynamic team and take on a challenging and exciting role.
– Project: Reg Sho project – regulatory background project to modernize the current offering of the bank, to serve GBME trading, cash and derivative trading, prime business, and group trading.
– Reason for request: New project requirements for specialized individuals

Candidate Value Proposition:
• The successful candidate will have the opportunity to Collaborate with the cross functional teams including engineering & development, business lines and other technology and product teams to build the right products with high quality, on time and within budget. The team is building work class real time trade repository and real time position and risk tracking.

Typical Day in Role:
• Expected to be constructing and enhancing trading Python/VBA based trading analytics tool for Sales and Traders.
• Day to day interaction with the trade floor/traders.
• Continuously perform customer need analysis and understand business pain points. Identify the biggest problems to solve to build & own the roadmap.
• Effectively communicate and continuously engage & cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in front to back office and in technology, and partner with them to help drive the strategy of the department.
• Prioritizes, negotiate, and remove obstacles to ensure quality product launches.
• Seeking a resource to act as a product specialist who will be responsible for implementation of products for GBM trading focusing on listed cash equities that will address the need of our business globally and further the modernization mandate.
• You will help to grow, inspire, and lead the initiative to deliver a product for Sales and Trading business, and will need to manage the solution aspects within the portfolio and develop roadmap in collaboration of business and technology stakeholders and mitigates risk through collaboration of cross functions teams and effective operations of your respective area.
• You will be responsible for managing a deliverable and solutioning of products to resolve complex, multi-dimensional business problems.
• You will have the opportunity to work with talent individuals from cross functional teams and be responsible to build and delivery market leading solutions that are scalable, in high quality, with adequate and effective controls to meet obligations required for compliance and operational risk and add value to our business partners and customers.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
• 5+ years’ experience working with Capital Markets with Sales and Trading focus
– Strong exposure to full trading lifecycle and ability to read and understand relevant datapoints
• 3+ years’ strong knowledge of capital markets cash equity or derivative trading and products with a focus on trade repository
• Strong recent project experience using Python (working on enhancement of existing code)
• Strong recent project experience using VBA hand-on
• Strong recent experience writing intermediate SQL queries

• Strong problem solver with ability to influence and inspire a cross-functional team to reach ambitious goals.

Education & Certificates:
• Degree – STEM
• FRM certification (asset)

Best VS. Average Candidate:
The ideal fit will be a great communicator (working with Traders) and be a good personality fit with the Sales and Trading teams. They will be experts in their products and have strong technology experience to support the enhancement of the trading analytics tool.

Interview process:
• 1st round – Panel interview with team – Product knowledge & Technical skills, problem solving – MS team – 45mins
– Will cover technical questions surrounding BA and Python as well
• 2nd round as needed with Director & Dev lead– personality fit check – MS teams – 30mins

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$100.00 and CA$130.00
