Position: Project Controller
Location: Vancouver, BC – Hybrid
Length: 1-year contract, with yearly extensions based on project needs

Industry: Mining – World’s leading gold company and a producer of copper, silver, zinc, and lead

Position Overview
The Project Controller will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on project cost and schedule performance throughout the full project lifecycle. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Finance teams, this role ensures projects are delivered within approved budgets and timelines, while maintaining compliance with corporate standards and governance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and maintain project budgets and forecasts for the full project lifecycle.
  • Track and report on project costs, progress, and performance metrics on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare and deliver financial analysis, variance explanations, and cash flow projections.
  • Maintain and manage change registers to document scope, cost, and schedule changes.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting in SAP and P6.
  • Identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions to maintain budget and schedule targets.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in project controls, project cost analysis, or a related function.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing project budgets and forecasts through the full cycle of a project.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with change management processes, including change registers.
  • Proficiency with SAP.
  • Experience producing monthly cost and schedule reports, along with variance and trend analysis.
  • Mining industry experience preferred; heavy industrial or resource sector background considered an asset.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$100.00
