Project Coordinator – Nuclear / Heavy Industrial Projects
A client operating within the power generation sector is seeking a Project Coordinator to support complex maintenance, upgrade, and execution activities tied to large-scale industrial projects. This position will work closely with project leadership, technical teams, field execution personnel, and customer stakeholders in a highly regulated environment.
Candidates with exposure to rotating equipment, outage coordination, turbine/generator systems, or large industrial shutdowns are strongly preferred.
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid schedule with limited in-office requirements
- Standard full-time hours with occasional overtime based on project demands
- Periodic travel to operational or customer sites may be required
- Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian nuclear security clearance
What You’ll Be Doing
Project Execution & Coordination
- Support overall project execution activities including scheduling, reporting, coordination, and documentation management
- Assist project teams with tracking deliverables, milestones, resource requirements, and execution timelines
- Coordinate activities between engineering, procurement, operations, field services, and quality teams
- Prepare meeting minutes, progress updates, action logs, and status reporting for internal and external stakeholders
- Help identify schedule impacts, execution risks, and project bottlenecks
Outage & Maintenance Support
- Assist with planning and coordination activities related to outages, inspections, equipment overhauls, and maintenance campaigns
- Support field execution readiness including work package coordination, material tracking, tooling requirements, and manpower planning
- Work alongside technical teams supporting rotating equipment and balance-of-plant systems
- Coordinate priorities and interface points between office teams and site personnel during active execution windows
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain project records, revision tracking, turnover documentation, and reporting packages
- Support adherence to quality processes, procedural controls, and regulated documentation requirements
- Assist with tracking RFIs, change requests, corrective actions, and issue resolution activities
- Ensure documentation is organized and maintained in alignment with internal and customer requirements
Cost & Schedule Support
- Assist with tracking project costs, forecasts, procurement updates, and schedule performance
- Support project managers with risk tracking, mitigation planning, and change management activities
- Monitor material and vendor status updates to help reduce execution delays
Stakeholder Communication
- Coordinate communication across multidisciplinary teams and customer representatives
- Organize meetings, outage planning calls, and follow-up actions
- Maintain strong communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment
Required Background
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, Project Management, or another related technical discipline
- Experience supporting projects within power generation, nuclear, oil & gas, aerospace, manufacturing, defense, or similarly regulated industries
- Prior experience in project coordination, project controls, outage support, maintenance planning, or industrial operations
- Familiarity with project scheduling and reporting tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, SAP, Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to turbine/generator maintenance activities, outages, inspections, or field service environments
- Understanding of rotating equipment, industrial maintenance planning, or shutdown execution
- Experience supporting projects governed by strict QA, compliance, or procedural controls
- Knowledge of cost tracking, schedule management, risk management, or earned value concepts is considered an asset
- PMP, CAPM, or related project certifications are beneficial

- Video participation will be required during interviews
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$50.00 and CA$60.00
