Summary of The Role

The Project Lead is a site-based role responsible for supporting the Project Manager with various project-related activities throughout the project lifecycle. The Project Lead is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the contractual obligations by maintaining an up-to-date schedule, communicating daily with project stakeholders, and leading the project to success. Key stakeholders include internal supply chain (procurement and warehousing), engineering, assessing, quality control, and construction. The Project Lead will review and understand design documentation and ensure the execution planning documentation captures the full intent of the design changes. The Project Lead is the single point of contact for multiple internal stakeholders and, with the support of the project Modification Team Lead and Project Manager, ensure internal alignment for upcoming planning and execution tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the project management team in coordinating project planning activities.
  • Coordinate all project management, engineering, and construction activities.
  • Interface between various internal stakeholders. (project services, engineering, procurement, construction, quality).
  • Support the project management team in monitoring project performance (cost, schedule, quality), managing risks, and assist in completing and distributing regular project reports (including risks/issues, status, and KPIs) to key stakeholders.
  • Support the coordination of project closeout activities and transfer to operations.
  • Implement processes and procedures and conduct training sessions when necessary.
     

Key Requirements, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience as a Project Coordinator or equivalent for nuclear power plant industry or related construction/industrial projects is preferred.
  • Understanding of project management, engineering, and construction processes, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 or alternative project scheduling software an asset.
