Job Title: Project Manager II
Location: Bay City, MI or Stockbridge, MI (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 12 Months
Description:
The primary focus of this role is to plan, manage, and coordinate the safe execution of capital projects, right of way repairs and maintenance, and operational projects within Great Lakes Region. Projects include electrical and mechanical equipment repair and/or replacement, pipeline modifications, annual tank inspection and maintenance, earthworks and civil repair, as well as support for environmental drilling and monitoring.
Specific Accountabilities:
Project Engineering:
• Finalize project design & scope, leveraging technical expertise and regional engineers to ensure all aspects are compliant with company standards and are adequately mitigating identified risks
• Develop requests for proposals and evaluation of consultant qualifications as required
• Confirm proper engineering documentation is developed and submitted for project execution
• Facilitate design reviews with appropriate stakeholders and facilitate change management
• Review critical operational plans such as isolation plans, inspection and test plans
• Address critical safety and operability concerns through engineering practices
Project Execution:
• Provide input into the preparation of the Regional operating and capital projects
• Determine resource requirements and identify key stakeholders
• Develop the execution schedule, identifying key milestones and aligning execution with existing outages
• Identify risks and corresponding mitigation plans, and finalize permits and/or regulatory applications
• Lead the selection of resources required to accomplish project scope
• Establish purchase orders and procure materials
• Manage the project budgets, maintain and communicate forecasts
• Collaborate with regional personnel and contractors to ensure projects are executed safely, following company standards and are on schedule and budget
• Ensure quality documentation (technical records and drawings) is produced in accordance with company Standards throughout the lifecycle of the project and turned over to Asset Information Management
• Ensure constructed and repaired assets meet project sponsor and operational requirements
• Ensure all invoices associated with the project are processed and work orders closed
• Ensure all aspects of project closure are completed as per company standards
Scope/Dimensions:
• Design & execute capital and operational project scopes to ensure operational reliability and safety
• Provide input into the preparation of the Regional operating and capital projects
• Develop technical solutions to operational and maintenance issues identified within capital and operational projects
• Ensure compliance with all company and regulatory requirements pertaining to health, safety, and environment
• Manage Operational and Capital budgets
Working Relationships:
• Regular customer service focused interactions with Area Operations Managers and Operational team members in Great Lakes Region
• Regular collaborative contact with Project Sponsors, Regional Engineering, Regional Maintenance Services, Environment, Lands, Regulatory Affairs, and Area Operations, gathering project requirements as well as communicating project activities and progress.
• Frequent contact and management of 3rd party contractors, establishing purchase orders and directing the execution of work.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Post-secondary education in engineering or PMP certification preferred; with 4 or more years of previous related experience. Or equivalent combination of education and pipeline maintenance and construction experience
• Knowledge of Construction Standards and Specifications, as well as Operations and Maintenance Manuals
• Strong ability to solve complex problems and manage various stakeholder interests
• Excellent communication skills and a focus on superior customer service
• Exhibits great interpersonal skills and works effectively in a team environment
• Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing a variety of tasks, and meeting required deadlines
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $70.00 and $80.00
