Job description
We are looking for an Agile Project Manager to join our team! In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams (Internal and external business partners) including engineering, UX, marketing, and business stakeholders to deliver seamless, scalable, Gen AI solutions that align with our strategic goals. You will report to the Senior Data Science Engineer within the Canadian AI Team and your interactions will span across various Manulife Markets and Business Units to manage and coordinate business and technical projects of moderate and large scope and complexity through all phases of initiation, development and implementation.
Position Responsibilities:
- Project management of initiatives related to continuous improvement of processes, automation, promoting digitization and expense reduction initiatives.
- Support functional teams with ad hoc requests and analytical work that is required for processing transactional requests timely and accurately, and safeguarding customer assets.
- Execution and support of the Company, Divisional and Operations strategy
- Work with clients to define and manage the scope, strategy, requirements and implementation of projects.
- Develop cost-benefit analyses for project initiatives.
- Ensure that assigned projects are completed within budgets and schedules while meeting client business objectives.
- Identify, analyze, mitigate, document, and control project risks.
- Expense management and budget delivery.
- Provide effective and regular communication within the project team, stakeholders, sponsors and management while managing client and team expectations and relationships.
- Identify resource needs for the project and establish roles, expectations, and goals with team members.
- Participate in negotiation of contract terms and conditions and ensure compliance with contract terms for project consultants and vendors.
- Conduct After-Action-Reviews.
- Stay current to AI tools and industry trends through training, self-study, trade contact, and trade and industry conferences.
- Share best practices and initiatives with other functional areas.
- Partner with IT to ensure common focus and execution of technology initiatives.
- Ensure delivery of services from key vendors.
- Managing multiple stakeholders and handling of multiple competing priorities with varying deadlines.
- Handle at times high volume and complex subject matter.
Requirement Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education or equivalent business experience.
- 4+ years project team experience.
- 4+ years experience in financial services.
- Thorough understanding of products, administration compliance, operations and systems including business desktop applications (e.g. Lucid, Office), and relevant financial products.
- Ability to think strategically, assess alternatives for short and long-term impacts and act decisively.
- Knowledge of project planning and tracking tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Technical knowledge and previous experience in digital transformation.
- Excellent working knowledge of tools such as but not limited to: JIRA, MURAL, Confluence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP, CCMP, Prince, etc. are an asset.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$52.00 and CA$62.00
