Job Title: Project Manager – IT III

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: 12 Months

Job Description:

Summary: The main function of an IT project manager is to oversee the application of project management methodology during all phases of the project cycle. Responsibilities include project design, scope management, cost control, quality, and performance reporting.

Job Responsibilities:
• Develop, track, and manage project budget, plans, timelines, and scope.
• Manage project resources, including procuring staff, developing, motivating, coaching, and advising.
• Partner closely with other members of functional project teams to define business requirements.
• Lead teams of developers in delivering high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.
• Define test plans and ensure products are defect-free before User Acceptance Testing.
• Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures.
• Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses.
• Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are utilized.
• Make presentations to steering committees or project sponsors.

Domain Knowledge
• Excellent knowledge of Agile and JIRA.
• Understanding of data handling, privacy concerns, and the importance of data quality.
• Ability to understand technical challenges and collaborate effectively with engineers, data scientists, and other subject experts.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1. 10+years of proven experience as an IT Project Manager.
2. Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification or experience.
3. Agile methodology
4. Extensive experience working closely with multiple teams to successfully execute and complete projects, ideally but not imperative, related to GenAI.

Soft Skills
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in project management methodologies and tools, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have:
1. Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
2. Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
3. SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP).

Education:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is required
 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$80.00
