Proposed Title: Project and Portfolio Analyst
Reporting Manager

Portfolio: Finance
Functional Area: Enterprise Transformation Office (Enterprise Project Management Office)

 

SUMMARY OF ROLE
This role is part of the Enterprise Transformation Office and is responsible to support Portfolio reporting and the development reports to be used for Executive Committees that govern the organization’s project spend as well as the PM Community. This includes:
  1. Supporting the Enterprise Project Management Office’s (EPMO’s) Delivery Model and governance through: process updates; working with key stakeholders e.g. project managers and business unit delivery leads; and documenting  / sharing process changes with the EPMO team and the PM Community.
  2. Cadenced portfolio management reporting, related to planning processes, prioritization, resource management and dynamic views of project spend for executive reporting
 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
% of Job Objective List of Responsibilities
     
25% Portfolio Reporting and planning process  
  • Support monthly reporting processes for EPMO Governance and other Enterprise Transformation Office forums
  • Support in implementing efficiencies and automation for reporting processes
  • Actively manage portfolio management factors, including a Project Scorecard on project financials, health and planning progress
  • Partnering with Finance teams to support the enterprise annual portfolio planning process
25%  Support Management and Enhancements to EPMO Delivery
Framework
  • Support the development of job aids, instructions and other materials to help the Project Management community (project managers, business owners, PMO leads) adhere to EPMO processes
  • Support the coordination of the Project Management Community of Practice
  • Partner with Corporate finance to incorporate changes to the business case in the tool set.
  • Leverage the prioritization framework to support the integration of strategic initiative scoring into the toolset to support leadership in annual prioritization exercise.
30 Resource Management
  • Lead in developing resourcing reporting for projects to enable better insights on capacity and demand.
  • In partnership with the team who manages PMO systems and tools, develop and plan a roadmap to support an industrialized resource management operating model to track resource capacity and demand across all strategic projects in the organization
20% Analysis and Problem Resolution
  • Analyze information and feedback, identify gaps and trends, issues and adjust direction to achieve continuous improvement and executional excellence.
  • Deal with escalated issues and bring them to resolution through facilitation of discussions and decisions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Education: Choose an item.     Field of Study:  
Industry Certifications / Professional Designations:
  • University degree in information systems, or related discipline;
  • Project/Portfolio Management degree or certification (e.g. PMP and/or DASM)
Years of Experience: 3 – 5 Years Industry: Project Management
Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience in project portfolio reporting and analysis and data analysis
  • Experience working with portfolio reporting tools is an asset  
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal; with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint 
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
  • Demonstrated competency in the use of email, internet, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office
Functional Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of project management and resource management
  • Knowledge of Agile Delivery
  • Knowledge of reporting structures and processes e.g. reconciliation and consolidation activities
Business Expertise:
  • Business process knowledge and comprehension of applications, procedures and workflows

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$80.00
