Job Title: QA/QC Inspector
Location: Galveston, TX 
Estimated Duration: Fulltime

Job Summary:
We are seeking a QA/QC Inspector to support quality assurance and control activities in a shipyard and/or fabrication environment. This role is responsible for conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with specifications and industry standards, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout all phases of production.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality control/assurance inspections in both shop and field environments
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, logs, and sketches
  • Document inspection results, including rework and material waste
  • Inspect and approve incoming materials based on specifications and testing
  • Conduct in-process inspections and communicate required adjustments to production teams
  • Inspect finished products, identify non-conformance, and verify rework completion
  • Coordinate with production personnel, customers, and third-party inspectors/surveyors
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Required Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 3–4 years of QA/QC, NDT/NDE, and/or NACE experience in maritime, fabrication, or oil & gas environments preferred
    OR
  • 5–6 years of welding or fitting experience in a fabrication shop or shipyard

Working Conditions:

  • Combination of outdoor and indoor work environments (hot, cold, noisy conditions)
  • Required use of PPE including hearing, eye, and head protection
  • Climbing (up to 100 feet), lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and working at heights
  • Navigating scaffolding, gangways, and confined spaces
  • Exposure to hot and potentially hazardous materials
  • Work performed on vessels, rigs, and in fabrication environments

Required Equipment Skills:

  • Experience using inspection, measuring, and testing equipment
  • Basic computer proficiency

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • NDT/NDE and/or NACE experience
  • Level II certifications in VT, PT, and MT
  • Knowledge of welding materials, codes, and specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under deadlines and schedule pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and company procedures

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $58,000 and $66,000
