Opportunity
The QA Coordinator reporting to Quality Lead, is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the Quality management program in accordance with the client’s requirements, processes and specifications.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and report daily Quality activities at the job site including office, supplier shop/warehouse or field-based location to ensure equipment, materials and work performed complies with the quality requirements, processes and specific job site conditions. (Travel required)
  • Provide oversight to Suppliers, Contractor’s and Subcontractors’ to ensure work performed complies with quality requirements and report any adverse trends or events
  • Assess implementation of site QA-related documents including Quality plans and procedures and Inspection and Test Plans
  • Initiate NCRs and support the nonconformance process, including Corrective Action planning and implementation, reviewing documentation of implementation and readiness for closure
  • Support Root Cause Analysis investigation and assist with implementation of corrective actions
  • Participate in audit/investigations and make recommendations regarding quality related issues/concerns at the program or portfolio level
  • Participate in the bid review process to include qualification and re-evaluation of suppliers and Contractors
  • Develop quality plans, Inspection and test plans, kick off and training deliverables to implement and verify the quality management system

Skills/Qualifications

  • Graduate engineer, graduate of construction management, with a minimum of 5-8 years construction experience on construction OR journeyman trades with a minimum of 15 years experience
  • Excellent grasp of construction QA concepts and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing quality assurance activities in multidiscipline construction environment (Pipeline, piping, civil, mechanical, etc.) 
  • Knowledge and experience in pipeline construction codes and standards including ASME, ABSA, CSA, NACE, API
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently to manage multiple and competing priorities, and to adapt to a changing environment
  • Demonstrated project management skills supported by use of software applications, Microsoft suite including Excel, Word, Power Point, Project, Viso; SAP and Power BI an asset
  • Ability to research, gather, analyze and synthesize multi-source data and produce clear and precise outputs, reports, and recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to provide and present timely and relevant feedback/reporting to various stakeholders. 
  • Ability to exercise leadership without formal authority and work in a team environment
  • Business maturity and awareness with topics and matters that are confidential and competition sensitive
  • Attitude and aptitude for continuous improvement and change management coupled with a pragmatic and flexible approach to getting things done; independently or in a team setting
  • Demonstrated experience producing high-quality, error and omission-free deliverables within tight deadlines
  • ISO 9001 Auditor (preferred)
  • Conversant with Root Cause Analysis practices/methods
  • Conversant with QMS practices/methodologies (CA/PA, NCR, PDCA, Continual Improvement)
  • ASQ Quality Management Professional (preferred)
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt (preferred)

This position requires candidates to:

  • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and provide a driver’s abstract (record) for review.
  • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$75.00 and CA$90.00
