Quantitative Researcher – FTE, Permanent

We are a prestigious asset management firm known for hiring top talent and delivering superior results in the financial industry. We are looking for an exceptionally talented Quantitative Researcher to join our elite team. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, at least 3 years of experience working with leading firms, and a passion for data-driven financial analysis. As a Quantitative Researcher, you will develop innovative quantitative models and strategies that drive investment decisions, risk management, and portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced quantitative research to develop models and strategies for asset pricing, portfolio optimization, and risk management.
- Analyze large datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities that can be leveraged for trading and investment decisions.
- Develop and backtest statistical models and algorithms to evaluate their performance across different financial markets and asset classes.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, and other researchers to provide data-driven insights and solutions that enhance investment strategies.
- Continuously explore and implement new research methodologies, technologies, and alternative data sources to improve model accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure that quantitative models are robust, scalable, and aligned with the firm’s performance and risk management goals.
- Present research findings, model performance, and investment insights to senior leadership and investment teams.
Key Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Quantitative Researcher, Quantitative Analyst, or in a related role at a leading financial institution, hedge fund, or asset management firm.
- A strong academic background with a degree in Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field from a top-tier university.
- Proficiency in statistical modeling, machine learning, and algorithm development.
- Expertise in working with large-scale financial datasets and developing quantitative models that drive investment decisions.
- Deep understanding of quantitative finance, asset pricing, risk management, and portfolio theory.
- Strong programming skills, with experience in languages such as Python, R, MATLAB, or other relevant programming tools.
- Proven ability to backtest and validate models, ensuring they meet high standards of performance and reliability.
- Experience in algorithmic trading or systematic investment strategies is a plus.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80,000 and CA$200,000
