SAP Ariba Lead

1.0       Description of Assignment
Our client is seeking an SAP Ariba Lead for the SAP program. The Ariba Lead is responsible for guiding the design, integration, and deployment of Ariba solutions to ensure high-quality procurement, sourcing, and supplier management capabilities that meet business needs. The role ensures alignment between business requirements, Ariba functionality, and end-to-end process design.
Responsibilities include:
  • Developing a clear understanding of procurement, sourcing, contracting, and supplier management requirements and supporting documentation
  • Ensuring proposed business processes align with Ariba capabilities and the overall SAP S/4HANA solution
  • Reviewing and validating functional and process documentation for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with Ariba standards
  • Ensuring adherence to solution design principles and integration approaches defined by the SAP program
  • Leading design and deployment activities across Ariba Sourcing, Contracts, Buying & Invoicing, Supplier Lifecycle & Performance, and Spend Analysis
  • Supporting the adoption and enablement of Ariba NextGen capabilities as part of the program roadmap
  • Reviewing project documentation to ensure alignment with scope, architecture, and business requirements
  • Identifying process gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities across sourcing, contracting, procurement workflows, and supplier governance
  • Coordinating Ariba-related activities to ensure configuration, integration, testing, and supplier onboarding are executed according to project timelines and system criticality

This is a hybrid role requiring 2 to 3 days per week in the office. The office is located at Union Station, 61 Front Street, Toronto.

2.0      Skills and Certifications
Mandatory Skills/Certifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement technology or SAP Ariba solution leadership
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience implementing and supporting SAP Ariba (Sourcing, Contracts, Buying & Invoicing, SLP, and Spend Analysis)
  • Major SAP or procurement system implementation experience, with a strong understanding of how business process changes impact integrated systems
  • Ariba certification in one or more modules (Sourcing, Contracts, Buying & Invoicing, SLP, or related)

Other Skills/Certifications

  • Experience with Ariba integration tools, workflow configuration, or automation capabilities is an asset
  • Expert hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience using Azure DevOps or similar tools for requirements, configuration tracking, and deployment management
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline
  • SAP S/4HANA or procurement technology certifications are an asset
  • ITIL or related process/governance certifications are an asset
  • Public sector and transit experience are assets
3.0       Assignment Duties
As an SAP Ariba Lead, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Participating in project planning, change management, communications, testing, training, go-live, and post-go-live support activities
  • Leading the design, configuration, and deployment of Ariba modules, including Sourcing, Contracts, Buying & Invoicing, Supplier Lifecycle & Performance, and Spend Analysis
  • Supporting the adoption and rollout of Ariba NextGen capabilities
  • Coordinating and guiding business users through UAT, ensuring scenarios reflect end-to-end procurement and sourcing processes
  • Maintaining documentation of design decisions, configuration, and integration requirements using designated project tools
  • Developing and validating process flows, functional specifications, and integration requirements across SAP S/4HANA and Ariba
  • Identifying process gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities across sourcing, contracting, procurement, and supplier management
  • Ensuring all Ariba design and integration activities follow established solution architecture, governance, and change-control procedures
  • Collaborating with technical teams to support data migration, supplier onboarding, workflow configuration, and interface testing
  • Providing leadership during cutover planning, go-live readiness, and hypercare support
  • Occasional site visits to client locations may be required. The incumbent must be able to travel within the GTA and comply with OHSA and the client’s Health & Safety policies.
  • Performing other project duties as assigned
4.0       Deliverables
Deliverables include:
  1. Ariba solution design strategy, including module-specific scope (Sourcing, Contracts, Buying & Invoicing, SLP, Spend Analysis, and NextGen)
  2. Functional design documents, configuration workbooks, and process flows
  3. Planning and coordination of Ariba design, configuration, and testing sessions with resources
  4. Designing and supporting the execution of end-to-end procurement, sourcing, contracting, and supplier management process testing
  5. Recording and managing Ariba-related issues, risks, and defects using standard tools
  6. Documentation of requirements traceability across Ariba modules and integrated SAP processes
  7. Participation in solution scoping, requirements analysis, gap analysis, feasibility assessments, functional design, technical specification reviews, testing, deployment, support, and training
  8. Support for project planning, change management, communications, testing, training, go-live, and post-go-live activities
  9. Other duties as determined and assigned by ITS-SAP Management

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80.00 and CA$97.00
