SAP Data Management Lead / Data Analyst
Description of Assignment
Our client in the public sector has launched a major business transformation of its financial system, driven by the implementation of SAP S4/HANA to enable future-state processes. Modules that are involved in this transformation include Finance and Controlling, Funds Management, Grants Management, Asset Accounting, Project Systems, Treasury and Risk Management, Cash Management, Logistics and Sales and Distribution. The Client has conducted high-level design workshops with our stakeholder in the functional areas impacted by the project.
The Data Analyst will complement the Client’s existing Data team and will work closely with the FSTP Data Lead as well as the project’s business teams and Vendor Data team to execute the work stream tasks.
Assignment Duties
• Provide support to facilitate data maintenance and table changes associated with software applications.
• Engage in control activities to ensure data quality and adherence to enterprise data policy.
• Work with business analysts to define and document the scope and functional requirements for data and reporting needs, including the conceptual data model and data flow for the solution.
• Analyze, develop specifications, and execute data mapping and transformation processes and requirements within and between applications.
• Ensure data integrity by executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data.
• Assist in the design of the overall ETL processes and architecture.
• Utilize technology to analyze data and/or metrics from applicable systems to review data processes, identify issues, determine actions to resolve or escalate problems that require data, system or process improvements.
• Perform data?related research and root cause analysis activities, provide correction specifications, and escalate issues as appropriate Define, publish, and/or enforce changes to corporate codes.
• Provide input to data architecture discussions and decisions on request.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
• 3 years experience in data warehouse or related field
• Experience in uncovering requirements, conceptualizing solutions, and developing a framework for implementation of a data warehouse, data mart, or data web on at least one other project or work assignment
• Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of data warehousing
• University/Community College degree in Computer Science / Electronic Engineering or equivalent a definite asset. Certification in Software Quality Engineering or equivalent a definite asset.
• Familiarity with software applications, including Microsoft Office tool.
Technical Capabilities
• Experience with data extraction, manipulation, and cleansing tools.
• Experience working with various Business Intelligence Tools like Tableau, Lumira, Cognos, Crystal, MS Reporter.
• Knowledge of database design, with emphasis on data warehousing, OLAP, star schemas or reporting cubes.
• Knowledge of software development and database structures.
• Knowledge in Analytic programming languages is an asset.
• SAP ECC and S/4 experience is an asset.
Deliverables
In FSTP project, the Data Analyst is responsible for the following key deliverables:
1. Data Mapping Document: Detailed mapping of data fields between the old and new systems.
2. Data Profiling Report: Analysis of the source data to assess its quality and suitability.
3. Data Cleansing and Transformation Rules: Guidelines for cleaning and transforming data to fit the new system.
4. Data Validation and Testing Plan: Procedures for testing data accuracy and integrity after migration.
5. Migration Progress Reports: Regular updates on the status of the migration process.
6. Data Migration Summary Report: A final report detailing the migration’s success and any issues addressed.
7. Data Access and Security Documentation: Documentation on data access controls and security measures.
8. User Training and Support Documentation: Training materials for users to work with the migrated data.
