Functional Design & SAP Enablement - Guide the design and validation of SAP S/4HANA Human Resources processes to ensure alignment with business objectives and SAP standard capabilities.
- Provide functional oversight and guidance for assigned Human Resource domains in the SAP landscape, translating business requirements into fit to standard SAP designs.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend SAP enabled improvements that support simplification, standardization, and automation.
Fit to Standard & Clean Core Execution - Facilitate and lead fit to standard workshops, confirming where SAP standard is adopted and documenting justified deviations.
- Evaluate functional gaps and recommend appropriate solutions (configuration, standard extensions, or governed customizations) in alignment with Clean Core principles.
- Ensure Human Resources designs remain upgrade safe, scalable, and support long term operability.
Cross Functional & Integration Collaboration - Collaborate with project functional and technical teams to ensure end to end process alignment.
- Validate and confirm Human Resources integration requirements with upstream and downstream systems (e.g. SAP HR, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Fieldglass and analytics platforms).
- Partner with the system integrator to review and approve functional designs and ensure quality delivery.
Governance, Scope & Risk Management - Support functional decision making within SAP Plus governance, escalating decisions as required based on scope, risk, or cross functional impact.
- Manage Human Resource requirements and scope clarity and boundaries, helping to reduce delivery risk, late design changes and functional impacts.
Testing, Data & Deployment Readiness - Define and support functional test scenarios to ensure coverage of real world Human Resources operations across key systems like SAP HR and Workday.
- Validate Human Resources master and transactional data readiness, working with data owners to address quality issues to include data integrity, testing completion, and cutover preparedness.
Business Adoption & Sustainment - Contribute to training and change enablement activities to support adoption of new Human Resources processes and tools.
- Act as a trusted advisor during transition to operations, supporting a stable day one go live and post go live stabilization.
Minimum Qualifications: Core SAP & Human Resources Expertise - Deep functional expertise in SAP S/4HANA Human Resources, with specialization in the following areas: SAP HR integration with Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP HR integration with Fieldglass and SAP HR Data analytics.
- Strong understanding of end to end Human Resources processes, including pay, compensation, time mgmt and worker lifecycle (hire to retire).
- Hands on experience designing and validating SAP solutions in ERP transformation or modernization programs.
S/4HANA & Clean Core Capability - Proven ability to apply fit to standard and clean core principles, minimizing customization and supporting long term SAP upgradeability.
- Experience evaluating and approving functional gaps, extensions, and custom developments within structured governance.
- Working knowledge of integrated SAP platforms such as SAP SuccessFactors and SAP Fieldglass and related Human Resources ecosystem systems (Workday, HR Data Analytics) and how they interact with S/4HANA.
Functional Governance & Delivery Skills - Strong experience guiding fit to standard workshops, requirement validation, and functional design across complex, cross functional landscapes.
- Ability to translate business objectives into clear, implementable functional designs for system integrators and technical teams.
- Experience supporting functional testing, data validation, cutover planning, and go live readiness for Human Resources processes.
Data, Analytics & Integration Awareness - Solid understanding of master data and transactional data critical to Human Resources operations (pay, compensation, time mgmt, worker lifecycle).
- Familiarity with SAP reporting and analytics approaches, including embedded analytics, BDC, or integrated reporting landscapes.
- Strong awareness of upstream and downstream system integrations and their impact on end to end process execution.
Professional & Interpersonal Skills - Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence business, technical, and leadership audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with system integrators and cross functional enterprise teams.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills within structured governance and regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to balance delivery speed, risk management, and business value realization in large programs.
Education & Experience - University degree in Human Resources, Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of SAP Human Resources experience, including participation in at least one major ERP implementation or transformation and substantial IS Support and Enhancement related work.
- Human Resources or SAP and Workday certifications (e.g. SAP HCM Core, SAP HCM Payroll, Workday HCM Core, Workday Pro HCM, SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central) are considered assets.
- Testing or delivery certifications (e.g., ISTQB, PMP, Agile/Scrum) are considered an asset.
