SAP Functional Consultant
Our client in the municipal sector has launched a major business transformation of its financial system, driven by the implementation of SAP S4/HANA solution to enable future- state processes. The Client has conducted high-level design workshops with our stakeholder. The project will be entering the next phases of the project which are critical to the implementation of the foundations of future state processes, and system functionality.
The SAP Functional Consultant will focus on the Record to Report process, but will compliment the existing project business teams and enable the Business Process Leads (BPLs) to collaborate in executing the work stream tasks.
The SAP Functional Consultants is required as the project continues through the Build to Deploy Phases. The resource will;
- Support the Record to Report team providing SAP knowledge/expertise/leadership.
- Lead the record to report process project related activities.
- Analyze record to report processes and identify areas of improvement and how these can be addressed leveraging Standard SAP functionality.
- Identify linkages to other key processes to support reporting .e.g. budgeting.
- Work in collaboration with the Business Process Lead and vendor lead informing the design, development and configuration of the SAP solution and its integration with SAP and non-SAP solutions.
- Support the testing cycles (Integration Test Cycle [ITC]1,2,3 UAT) tasks, including.
- Developing test script and test cases, identification of test data, test execution, participate in defect resolution, development of risk mitigation strategies, etc., and prepping for cut-over and Go Live and post live support.
- Support/participate in all the phases and relevant work streams of the project, including project planning, change management, communications, testing, training, Go?Live and post Go?Live support activities.
- Support delivery of the process designs, requirements, and fit/gap developed by the Systems Integrator (SI) during the design phase,
- Help the City validate proposed functionality and alignment to design with the Systems Integrator and also provide their experience in leading best practices.
Provide leadership of business processes, accounting principles, systems configuration, enhancements and data to enable related processes.
Qualificiations:
- A minimum of 10+ years hands-on experience in large project/program management with Government jurisdictions and or large private sector organizations.
- Expertise and experience in SAP S/4HANA modules; SAP Finance, Controlling, Asset Accounting, Accounts Payable, Project Systems, Funds Management,
SAP Certification FI-CO would be an asset;

- Experience or Knowledge of any of the following modules will also be an asset;
Asset Retirement Obligation, Treasury and Risk Management, SAP Advanced Financial Closing and Grants Management.
- Expertise in configuration of S/4 HANA modules including SAP Finance, Controlling, Asset Accounting, Accounts Payable, Project Systems, Funds Management
- Experience in delivering at least 2 end to end implementations. Implementation in a public sector environment with S/4HANA would be an asset.
- Extensive experience with traditional and innovative project management processes, techniques, tools across agile, waterfall, iterative methods and associated tools.
- Strong knowledge of test methodologies.
- Project excellence spanning Governance, Definition, Planning, Project Management & Control, Financials and Close-out.
- Working knowledge of SAP Solution Manager Change Request will also be an asset.
- Strong Proficiency in MS Office specifically MS Excel.
- Ability to work in transformative programs.
- Tenacious and willing to support the team during peak volumes and workloads with various activities.
- Strong in process management and controls to minimize risks exposure.
- Ability to lead efficient communication between all project stakeholders, including internal teams and clients.
- Ability to achieve business objectives through influencing and effectively working with key stakeholders.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills (comfortable & confident communicating at all levels, including business partners, leadership and vendors).
- Demonstrated critical thinking and strategic planning skills.

- Functional specs for development objects.
- Test plans, test cases, use cases, user stories, scenarios and results documents.
- Documentation of various types of tests (unit, functional, integration, system, regression, penetration, performance and user acceptance testing).
- Process and configuration documentation.
- Options documents to support decision making by project leadership.
- Key decision documents.
- Other analyses and reports for Management as needed.
- Input for training and sustainment model and
- Documentation of issues and risks.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$65.00 and CA$110.00
