About the Opportunity

Our client is a Canadian advanced technology organization delivering complex, high-value programs for government and international customers. Their work is subject to strict Government of Canada security regulation, and they are growing quickly across multiple Canadian sites.

What You'll Do

  • Own compliance across all aspects of the Contract Security Program and Controlled Goods Program
  • Prepare and maintain Project Security Plans, and liaise with government and intelligence partners as required
  • Develop, advise on, and implement Security Requirements Check Lists (SRCLs) for specific projects and bids
  • Process personnel clearances through the federal online clearance system and maintain cleared-resource lists by role
  • Act as a Designated Official under the CGP (or become one), and conduct security assessments to determine eligibility to access controlled goods using a defined risk matrix
  • Support government inspections — physical security, document safeguarding, classified processing, COMSEC, and controlled goods
  • Administer sensitive visit clearance requests (RFVs) for visitors accessing protected/classified information, discussions, or secure areas
  • Coordinate tracking, storage, and transmittal of incoming and outgoing classified material
  • Advise on project physical security requirements so facilities meet Industrial Security Directorate guidelines
  • Support bids and proposals from bid/no-bid through contract implementation, flagging security risk to schedule
  • Build SOPs, documentation, and training material; deliver ongoing security awareness training
  • Perform regular audits, monitor risk, escalate issues, and propose corrective action
  • Support security incident handling and attend internal/external program reviews as the security voice in the room
  • Act as Alternate Company Security Officer when required; flexibility for occasional after-hours/on-call

What You Bring

  • 5–7+ years in an ACSO and/or CSO capacity
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience with the Canadian Contract Security Program and Controlled Goods Program
  • Ability to manage 10–20 active files concurrently, with volume peaks, under deadline pressure
  • Sound judgment handling complex and sensitive security screening files
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills across all levels of an organization and with external customers and government stakeholders
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision inside a team structure
  • Post-secondary education in business administration, law enforcement, IT security, or a related field (asset)
  • Bilingual French/English (asset)
