Business Analyst (6-Month Term, Extendable)

Overview

We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to join our Winnipeg-based team on a 6-month term, with the potential for extension. This role plays a key part in bridging business needs and technical solutions, contributing to the continuous improvement of products and internal systems.
What You’ll Do
As a Business Analyst, you will work closely with internal stakeholders, developers, and quality assurance teams to support the analysis, documentation, and delivery of system enhancements and new features.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements
  • Translating business needs into clear functional and non-functional specifications
  • Supporting solution design by working closely with development and QA teams
  • Creating and maintaining documentation such as business requirements, process flows, use cases, and user stories
  • Assisting with system testing, validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
  • Participating in project meetings and providing regular status updates
  • Ensuring solutions align with business objectives, timelines, and quality standards

What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role (co-op or internship experience considered)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to document complex processes and requirements clearly and accurately
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.)

Assets (Nice to Have):

  • Experience in Agile or Scrum environments
  • Familiarity with software development life cycles (SDLC)
  • Experience with payroll, HR, or enterprise systems
  • Exposure to requirements tools such as JIRA or Confluence

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$85.00
