Location: Toronto, ON – Canada (Hybrid/Remote depending on office)
Duration: 6-Month Contract, extendable to 2 years with a 3rd optional

Role Overview
Our Capital Markets group is seeking a Business-focused Business Analyst to support initiatives across technology and operations. This role will focus on understanding business processes, defining clear requirements, and supporting delivery teams as they implement solutions that improve efficiency, risk management, and scalability.
The ideal candidate brings strong capital markets domain knowledge, is comfortable working with senior business stakeholders, and can translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements for technology and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Capital Markets business stakeholders to understand objectives, pain points, and current-state processes.
- Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, functional requirements, and process flows.
- Translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.
- Support backlog refinement and prioritization in collaboration with Product Owners and delivery leads.
- Act as a bridge between business, technology, and operations teams to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions with front office, risk, and operations stakeholders.
- Support change initiatives by assessing impacts to people, process, and controls.
- Assist with UAT planning and execution, including test case review and business sign-off.
- Ensure requirements and solutions align with enterprise risk, regulatory, and compliance standards.
- Maintain traceability between business objectives, requirements, and delivered outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in financial services.
- Strong business analysis skills with a focus on process, requirements, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working in Capital Markets or closely related domains.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences.
- Experience working in agile or hybrid delivery environments.
- Strong documentation and facilitation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Capital Markets domain experience (e.g., trading, sales, risk, settlements, middle/back office).
- Experience supporting regulatory, risk, or control-related initiatives.
- Familiarity with agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- BA or agile certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA, or equivalent).

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80.00 and CA$100.00
