About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading Canadian life insurance provider, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst for a strategic contract engagement. This role is designed for a professional who brings deep domain knowledge in life insurance and a proven ability to lead large-scale business transformation initiatives. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to shape and deliver key programs across digital platforms, policy administration systems, and operational processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end business analysis process for high-impact initiatives including digital transformation, system modernization, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, IT, and operational stakeholders to define, analyze, and document business needs, translating them into actionable functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and working sessions to gather detailed business and system requirements.
  • Perform gap analyses, current vs. future state mapping, and root cause analysis for business problems.
  • Develop BRDs, user stories, process flows, and use cases to support solution design and delivery.
  • Support QA/UAT efforts, ensuring requirements are testable, traceable, and meet acceptance criteria.
  • Act as a strategic partner in evaluating and selecting third-party solutions or platforms, participating in RFP/RFI processes where applicable.
  • Interface with external vendors and internal teams to support system implementations or enhancements.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 7–10+ years of business analysis experience in life insurance, financial services, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise-level projects in complex, regulated environments.

Industry & Domain Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of life insurance products (term, whole life, universal, etc.), underwriting, policy administration, and claims processes.
  • Familiarity with Canadian regulatory requirements (OSFI, CCIR, CLHIA) and compliance-related projects.

Technical & Platform Experience:

  • Experience working with or alongside enterprise policy administration systems, CRM platforms, or digital servicing tools.
  • Proficiency with analysis and project tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, Power BI).
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience with Sapiens, Guidewire, or similar insurance core systems/platforms.
    • Exposure to enterprise implementation projects involving core system migrations or enhancements.

Methodologies & Soft Skills:

  • Strong command of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall delivery models.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including executive reporting and facilitation.
  • Highly self-directed with a consultative approach and ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80.00 and CA$90.00
