Senior Developer – PowerBuilder EWMS
Our client in the public sector is seeking a Senior Integration Developer to support an Enterprise Work Management System (EWMS) project by implementing the integration and modifications to ensure successful delivery of the project.
Assignment Duties

- Responsible for the design, development, test and implement technology solutions.
- Communicate with business stakeholders and/or system analysts to determine features, requirements, and solution design.
- Analyze the existing functionalities of PowerBuilder system by reviewing code and Oracle stored procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues as needed.
- Manage, deliver and ensure quality outputs and deliverables using appropriate methodology.
- Report on status, risks, success criteria as required related to work assignments.
- Perform other duties as required.
Experience and Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science or a related discipline, or the approved equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of 10+ years hands-on experience with development / sustainment of large- scale, heavily integrated IT solutions
- Extensive experience in leading application design, development, and implementation of PowerBuilder application (2019 or higher)
- Extensive experience in data analysis, using SQL and Oracle PL/SQL coding techniques to extract, and report upon, business information, trends, insights, and metrics from data stored in one or more databases.
- Extensive experience supporting complex database schemas, including data architecting, data modelling, data normalization, ETL processes, performance optimization, and administration with Oracle 19c or higher.
- Extensive experience in all stages of the system development life cycle, utilizing an enterprise architecture approach and software development methodologies.
- Experience in system integrations including web services (Restful, JSON) development and support.
- Ability to elicit, drive and/or develop application requirements to ensure that business needs and requirements have been adequately defined and documented and/or the root cause of the problem accurately stated.
Deliverables
- Design, development, test and implement technology solutions.
- Prepare test plans, test cases, scenarios, and results documents.
- Execute/Facilitate various types of technical tests (unit, functional, integration, system, regression, penetration, performance, and user acceptance testing).
- Track and resolve problems, defects, and issues within projects.
- Apply application patches; facilitate ad-hoc requests; assist with version-controlling objects; diagnose application/report performance problems.
- Create/revise documentation, including specifications, operations, and user guidelines.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$75.00 and CA$95.00
