Position Title: Senior Enterprise Architect – Cloud
Department: Information Technology
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 6 Months

As a member of the Enterprise Architecture team, the Senior Enterprise Architect – Cloud has responsibility for establishing and driving overall cloud architecture approaches including adherence to best practices and frameworks.  In addition, the candidate leads and drives setting and evolving an overall policy-driven cloud governance framework, its implementation and adoption.

Your skills are broad – with a heavy emphasis on Azure, but also including Power Platform, M365, and various 3rd party and Microsoft applications SaaS (e.g., Dynamics 365, Business Central), you will be architecting, documenting, and advising the development teams in the implementation of cloud solutions.  You will lead and participate in the review of solution architectures and patterns with other stakeholders and working with development and delivery team members.

Our goal is to build a strong culture for maintaining best practice disciplines for cloud governance, architecture, solution engineering, delivery, and operations where we put the business first while achieving our client’s mandate.
This is a wonderful opportunity to join our client, a Capital Markets Regulatory SRO, that is itself undergoing significant change with the amalgamation of existing solutions and business divisions while also contemplating transferring or migrating solutions to cloud alternatives. 

Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise Cloud Governance Framework: Lead the development and maturity for Cloud Governance practices across our client’s cloud estates. The objectives include modernizing the cloud governance practices including cloud policy, technology, and compliance elements.
Enterprise Cloud Governance Practice: Drive the implementation of governance elements across cloud environments including Azure, M365, Power Platform, and others.  Review retrospectively existing cloud implementations to ensure adherence to Cloud governance disciplines such as cost management, security, resource consistency, identity, and deployment.
Enterprise Cloud Solution Architecture: Drive and lead the development of enterprise cloud solution roadmaps and architectures in support of cloud-based initiatives; work with security, development, and deployment teams to ensure designs and implementation adhere to architectural design patterns for secure cloud application environments, application architecture, data services, and cloud service integrations.

Stakeholder Management: Work with business and IT stakeholders, information security, enterprise architecture, and enterprise project management teams to prioritise, align, and deliver value.
Key Skills and competencies:

  • A minimum of 10+ years of IT experience in EA capacities and  including 6 years of hands-on cloud architecture experience including Azure, Power Platform, M365, and other related cloud SaaS and PaaS services.
  • Hands-on experience in leading cloud-based solution architectures, and as a member of architecture and project teams.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in banking and financial services, or regulatory organizations is preferred.
  • Familiarity and experience with Azure Cloud Adoption or similar frameworks.
  • Familiarity and expertise with all elements of Power Platform best practices, governance, environments, application lifecycle, and related solutions.
  • Familiarity with AAD B2C solutions for Power Apps applications.
  • Expertise with Azure Policy, implementation, and configuration aspects that enforce organizational standards, and to assess compliance at-scale.
  • Expertise with Azure Blueprints and its implementation.
  • Support our client’s central ITSM process and other groups to ensure adherence to repeatable sets of Azure resource deployments and adheres to an organization's standards e.g., ARM templates.
  • Broad experience with varied Azure services including compute, storage, security, data and analytics, network, integration, and monitoring.
  • Experience architecting Azure data and analytics-based services and solutions such as elements of Microsoft Fabric.
  • Ability to review solution designs for cloud-fit architectures.
  • Strong understanding of cloud native architecture and security principles and ability to partner with the Information Security team.
  • Experienced with various IT and business stakeholders leading the creation of solution architectures, architecture, and design reviews.
  • Collaborate with our client’s managed services provider on aspects of cloud administration and management functions.
  • Ability to visualize and propose solutions for emerging concepts.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, attention to quality, self-motivation, and a strong desire to succeed.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills to effectively present technology concepts to peers and management.
  • Familiarity with AWS and on-prem VPC platforms are assets.
  • Demonstrable ability to learn and adapt continuously.
  • Self-motivated with a super-positive attitude and an ability to work independently and or in a team.

Education:

  • University degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Azure certifications or learning designations.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$90.00 and CA$110.00
