Enterprise Information Architect (Senior)

Overview

Our client is hiring a Senior Enterprise Information Architect to lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide information management strategy. This role will play a critical part in shaping how the organization manages, structures, and leverages its data assets to drive business value and support long-term digital transformation.

Working closely with data architecture and business leadership, this individual will establish the frameworks, models, and governance structures required to enable a scalable, modern information ecosystem.


Key Responsibilities

Information Architecture & Strategy

  • Develop and maintain the Enterprise Information Management framework
  • Create conceptual business information models to define the future-state information landscape
  • Establish and implement metamodels, taxonomies, and ontologies to support enterprise data assets
  • Define and maintain the strategic direction for information management
  • Develop and drive the enterprise information management roadmap, aligned with evolving business needs

Data Management & Governance

  • Build and maintain repositories representing data assets, including:
    • Data sources
    • Structures
    • Business glossary
    • Classification and relationships
  • Support the development of information governance processes and structures
  • Enable data discoverability and self-service access across the organization
  • Partner with data leadership to identify and recommend enterprise data solutions (e.g., MDM, metadata, analytics, integration)

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership

  • Lead discovery sessions with business stakeholders to understand data objectives and challenges
  • Translate complex information architecture concepts into clear, business-friendly insights
  • Act as a trusted advisor to both business and IT leadership
  • Mentor and guide data architects and cross-functional teams
  • Champion a data-driven and digital-first mindset across the organization

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Stay current with emerging data technologies, regulations, and industry best practices
  • Contribute to the evolution of data standards, tools, and processes
  • Drive continuous improvement through stakeholder engagement, performance metrics, and process optimization

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 10+ years of experience in a senior data/information architecture or leadership role
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with:
    • Data modeling
    • Information classification
    • Enterprise information frameworks
    • Metamodels, taxonomies, and ontologies
  • Proven ability to align data strategy with business objectives
  • Experience leading enterprise-level data and information initiatives
  • Strong background in data governance and enterprise data management practices
  • Demonstrated success working across business, technology, and operations teams
  • Ability to assess business, financial, and operational impacts

Nice to Have

  • Experience in complex or highly regulated industries
  • Exposure to enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF)
  • Advanced business or technical education (e.g., MBA)

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work model (3 days onsite)
  • Collaboration across multiple business units and leadership teams
  • Occasional travel may be required

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$100.00 and CA$120.00
