Job Title: Senior Environmental Permitting Planner

Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)

Estimated Duration: 6 Months

 

Our client is seeking an Environmental Permitting Planner to support capital and maintenance projects across the U.S. In this role, you’ll lead environmental permitting, compliance, and restoration efforts to ensure projects meet all federal, state, and local environmental regulations. You’ll work closely with regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal stakeholders to guide projects from planning through completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute environmental permitting and compliance strategies for energy infrastructure projects.

  • Secure and manage environmental clearances under NEPA, ESA, CWA, NHPA, and related regulations.

  • Coordinate with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies (USACE, EPA, USFWS, etc.).

  • Oversee environmental contractors, field surveys, and post-construction monitoring.

  • Support stakeholder engagement with communities, landowners, and government entities.

  • Ensure all project activities align with corporate environmental policies, budgets, and schedules.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in environmental permitting, compliance, or planning.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field.

  • Strong understanding of NEPA, Clean Water Act (Sections 401/404), ESA, NPDES, and related environmental statutes.

  • Proven ability to manage consultants, field teams, and agency coordination.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred

  • Experience in the midstream, energy, or infrastructure sectors.

  • Knowledge of federal and Texas environmental permitting processes.

  • Strong project management and multi-tasking skills.

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $85.00 and $95.00
