Senior Financial Analyst – Data & AI Portfolio

Role Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in end?to?end financial management for the Data & AI portfolio. This position provides financial stewardship across multiple cross?functional technology teams, ensuring the accuracy of budgets, forecasts, accruals, spend and variance analytics, and management reporting. You will be the primary finance partner for teams across the Data & AI portfolio, and partner closely with Data & AI delivery teams, Finance, and Vendor Management to support strategic financial decisions, portfolio planning, and investment decisions. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to interpret and synthesize financial data, and comfort operating within a complex portfolio environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Financial Planning, Forecasting & Budget Management

  • Lead budget tracking and variance management for all Data & AI cost centres and project funding envelopes.
  • Monitor monthly spend, identify risks and opportunities, and provide clear insights to leadership.
  • Support annual budget cycles, quarterly forecast cycles, and in?year re?forecasting, aligned with enterprise FP&A standards. 
  • Support multi?year financial planning of Data & AI investments through supporting Cost benefit analysis etc.
  • Provide financial advisory support in portfolio discussions, prioritization reviews, and spend?optimization initiatives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes, tools, and data quality.

 
Reporting & Executive Insights

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reporting packages, highlighting trends, risks, variances, and portfolio insights.
  • Create dashboards and KPI reporting that enable leadership decision?making.
  • Support financial inputs required for project gating, investment cases, and strategic planning sessions.

 
Operational Finance Management

  • Oversee invoice processing, accruals, and reconciliation activities for Data & AI vendors and internal allocations.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate accounting policies and accurate treatment of capital vs. operating expenses.

  
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • CPA, CFA, MBA or equivalent is an asset.
  • At least 8+ years experience in FP&A, technology finance, or portfolio financial management.
  • Experience supporting complex multi?team or multi?project technology portfolios preferred.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with enterprise financial systems (SAP/Oracle/Hyperion/etc.)
  • Power BI skills for dashboarding is an asset.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$45.00 and CA$65.00
