The Opportunity:
Senior Financial Analyst
What you'll do:
- Provide support to business by monitoring results, providing analysis, and investigating variances, while identifying risks and opportunities with a focus on providing meaningful actionable insights.
- Prepare, analyze, and deliver month end review presentations to the business.
- Support the business with a fully analytical skillset, including developing operational reporting and executive dashboards, providing analysis, conclusions, and recommendations for the business.
- Support the continuous improvement of the financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes within the team to improve efficiency and quality.
- Lead a variety of ad hoc projects as assigned by the Manager.
- Review key performance metrics (financial and business metrics) to improve existing reports and develop new reports.
- Foster strong working relationships across the businesses, and work proactively to identify opportunities for finance to act as a strategic business partner.
- Optimize tasks to increase efficiency and accuracy, include driving the design of automation for the business.
- Build robust and interactive reports to shed light on the performance of various initiatives.
- Coordinates inputs, administration, reconciliation of the various plans in the budget system.
What you bring:
- Professional accounting designation or working towards a designation.
- Minimum of 2 -3 years experience in a medium to large retail corporate analytics-based environment.
- Ability to clearly and confidently, communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to influence and persuade different points of view.
- Ability to execute multiple projects and drive key business results under tight deadlines.
- Strong time management and self-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in an ambiguous environment.
- Self-starter attitude with willingness to learn and master new technologies.
- Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience using Hyperion Planning & HFM, Peoplesoft accounting systems.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the “big picture” in a complex business environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- This position requires working in the Calgary office for four days a week.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$64,000 and CA$88,000
