Our client is a Canadian multinational energy company. They focus on transportation, distribution, and generation of energy, primarily in North America. They have a long history in the responsible development and reliable and safe operation of North American energy infrastructure. They are one of the continent’s largest providers of energy storage and related services.

They are currently looking for a Sr Infrastructure Advisor  for their Calgary, AB location.

Responsibilities
• Lead/participate in collaboration efforts between the Infrastructure and Cloud Services team and the Service Providers Operational teams
• Provide expert advice on infrastructure planning, development, and management for storage and backup systems.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations of existing storage and backup systems.
• Develop and implement strategic/tactical plans that align with Enterprise Architecture road maps
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify infrastructure needs and solutions.
• Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management.
• Participate in annual Budgeting planning for Capital or SG&A requirements
• Daily Monitoring and Management: Oversee the backup/storage environment, ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Problem Management: Diagnose and resolve issues related to storage and backup systems.
• Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and conduct regular testing.
• System Updates and Maintenance: Oversee regular updates and maintenance of backup and storage systems.
• Change Management: Oversee changes in the environment and ensure compliance with company standards.

Competencies
• Proficiency with SAN and NAS technologies like NetApp, as well as backup solutions like Commvault.
• Knowledge of Virtualization (e.g. VMware) and Cloud (e.g. Azure) will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Azure CVO Storage
• Knowledge of handling of structured vs. unstructured data would be an asset

Qualifications
• Education: Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years in IT
• Technical Acumen: Proficiency with operating systems, Storage Area Networks (SAN), and backup solutions. Familiarity with tools similar to NetApp and Commvault would be an asset
• Certification: Relevant certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, or vendor-specific certifications (e.g., EMC, IBM) would be an asset also
