Job Summary
A national organization responsible for delivering civil air navigation services across Canada is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to support its Internal Audit leadership team. The organization provides a range of services including air traffic control, flight information, aeronautical data, weather briefings, airport advisory functions, and electronic navigation support. In this role, you will:
• Participate in planning activities to help develop a risk-based audit plan
• Perform assigned audit work efficiently and effectively, including:

Leading audit projects within defined scope and timelines

Preparing risk-based work programs for various assignments and complex audits

Working independently to complete assigned tasks

Supervising and reviewing work performed by other team members

Providing constructive feedback to colleagues and leadership
-
Mentoring team members and supporting stakeholders when needed

Communicating clearly with audit teams and business partners throughout each assignment

Analyzing data and, when appropriate, using audit tools to support analysis

Preparing reports, documentation, exceptions, and value-added recommendations
-
Managing engagements within approved budgets using sound project management practices
• Contribute to team discussions and offer meaningful feedback
• Build networks and maintain positive working relationships across the organization
• Stay up to date with relevant professional standards (IIA, CIA, ISACA, etc.) and apply them in daily work
• Maintain strong technical and analytical skills
• Support additional administrative tasks aligned with departmental objectives
What you bring:
• Post-secondary degree and/or professional accounting designation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation (required)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an audit environment
• Experience documenting and auditing business processes and/or business applications
• Understanding of fraud risks and indicators
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and business process best practices
• Familiarity with risk and internal control frameworks
• Working knowledge of IT governance standards and frameworks, including COBIT

Working Conditions:
• This role is based at the organization’s Ottawa office and follows a hybrid model requiring a minimum of three days per week on site.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80,000 and CA$120,000
