Our client is a Canadian multinational energy company. They focus on transportation, distribution, and generation of energy, primarily in North America. They have a long history in the responsible development and reliable and safe operation of North American energy infrastructure. They are one of the continent’s largest providers of energy storage and related services.

They are currently looking for a Senior IT Program Manager for their Calgary, AB location.

Responsibilities
• Leadership & Collaboration: Lead collaboration efforts between D&IT and senior business leaders within DEP. Foster strong relationships across the organization to ensure seamless execution of digital initiatives.
• Strategic Roadmap Development: Shape and refine the program roadmap by aligning it with the broader D&IT technical strategies. Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure program success.
• D&IT Coordination: Act as the single point of accountability for DEP’s D&IT-related activities. Coordinate efforts across multiple D&IT teams, driving urgency in execution and removing obstacles to keep projects on track.
• Business-Technical Alignment: Understand the business objectives of DEP and translate these into clear, actionable work packages for D&IT teams. Ensure solutions are feasible, scalable, and sustainable within the technology infrastructure.
• Innovation Partnership: Develop and sustain a fast-paced R&D and innovation collaboration between DEP and D&IT, fostering a forward-thinking, results-oriented environment.
• Demand Prioritization: Balance the competing needs of DEP and other D&IT projects, ensuring the effective allocation of resources while maintaining alignment with business priorities.
• Performance Tracking & Reporting: Monitor program KPIs and provide regular updates to leadership. Use data-driven insights to inform decisions and ensure the program stays aligned with key success metrics.

Qualifications
• Education: Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 12 to 15 years in IT, with substantial experience in leadership roles managing large-scale digital transformation programs, including direct experience with technology implementations in the downstream energy sector.
• Project Management Expertise: Proven track record of leading multi-year, high-budget programs from inception through to successful completion. Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies is highly desirable.
• Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of digital technologies, enterprise systems, and IT infrastructure. Previous experience with ERP systems, cloud technologies, and data governance initiatives is preferred.
• Certification: PMP certification is an asset. Additional certifications in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) or IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) are highly advantageous.
• Negotiation & Communication: Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Strategic Alignment: Demonstrated experience in aligning program deliverables with broader organizational strategies, ensuring that digital initiatives are fully integrated into the company’s long-term goals.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$130.00 and CA$150.00
