Senior Lead, Environment Construction Manager
Start Date: October 2024
Location: Sparwood, BC
Pay Rate: $75.00/hourly +
Contract Length: 1-year contract, possibility of extension. Every second-Friday off
The Senior Lead, Environment Construction Specialist is responsible for providing leadership, technical direction, and decision-making support in the areas of environmental and regulatory risk management and mitigation associated with the construction phase of water treatment projects. You will manage environmental risks, maintain project timelines, and satisfy regulatory requirements associated with water treatment projects through the construction phase of major water treatment projects.
Project Understanding:
This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in water quality projects during the earthworks and construction phases through to the Transfer of Care, Custody, and Control of major large scale water treatment facilities to our client’s Water Operations Team. You will have the chance to collaborate with the Environment Water Treatment and Project Execution teams.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience in an Environmental field w/ experience in Construction Management
- Registered or ability to register within BC as a R.P Bio, P.Geo, P.Ag, P.Eng)
- Experience with ESC Plan auditing and ESC Plan Preparation
- Technical understanding and direct experience with federal and provincial regulations and compliance practices related to water quality and water management
- Experience within Major projects (BC EAO-certified) and provincial (WSA) and federal (DFO) permitting is an asset
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical direction and strategic leadership for construction teams in managing environmental impacts from construction activities
- Develop and implement Care of Water Plans, Environmental Protection Plans, Trigger Action Response Plans, and Erosion and Sediment Control Plans
- Drafting, reviewing, and monitoring the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans
- Supervision of Environmental Monitors and Environmental Professionals, provide mentorship, support, guidance, and development to increase team expertise and drive continuous improvement
- Oversee construction document reviews on applications and engineering design documents
- Review daily construction reports and communicate risks and mitigations to senior management

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$75.00 and CA$83.00
