Sr Platform Specialist – Network Services

(Telephony, SIP, and Voice Routing Focus)

What you will do
The Sr Platform Specialist for Network Services provides advanced engineering expertise across the enterprise telephony and voice infrastructure. This role focuses on SIP, call routing, session management, and operational support for voice platforms. Preferred experience includes Cisco and Ribbon systems, although strong VoIP engineering skills from any large scale environment are suitable. The specialist ensures reliable and high quality voice services for corporate users, retail locations, contact centers, and remote workers. This role also contributes to automation, observability, and continuous improvement efforts across the Network Services organization.
Key Responsibilities
Telephony and SIP Engineering
              • Design, implement, and support enterprise telephony platforms using SIPS, SRTP, and related protocols.
              • Configure and maintain Cisco and Ribbon voice systems or equivalent enterprise VoIP platforms.
              • Manage call routing, dial plans, SBC configurations, SIP trunks, failover behavior, and number management.
              • Support integrations with SIP & PSTN providers, cloud voice services, call recording systems, and contact center platforms.
Operations and Continuous Improvement
              • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving SIP signaling, codec negotiation, QoS, media flow, and call quality.
              • Perform root cause analysis for voice related incidents and drive improvements to eliminate repeat issues.
              • Review configurations and routing logic to reduce complexity, improve reliability, and minimize cost.
              • Support migrations from legacy telephony platforms to Microsoft Teams Voice
Automation and Scripting
              • Develop automation scripts to streamline provisioning, number management, testing, and reporting.
              • Contribute to automation frameworks that integrate telephony systems with network services, IPAM, and monitoring tools.
              • Participate in network as code and configuration standardization initiatives across the organization.
Collaboration and Alignment
              • Partner with Network Services, Network Platforms, and Infrastructure teams to ensure reliable end to end voice connectivity across WAN, SD WAN, and LAN environments.
              • Work with Security, Identity, and Application teams to support authentication, logging, compliance, and integrations with enterprise systems.
              • Assist in evaluating new telephony technologies, providers, and hosted solutions with a focus on value engineering and operational simplicity.
What you bring
              • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent experience is welcome.
              • Strong understanding of SIP, RTP, call flows, SBC behavior, dial plans, and VoIP protocols.
              • Hands-on experience with Cisco and Ribbon voice platforms is preferred, but strong experience with any enterprise VoIP environment is acceptable.
              •Proven ability to troubleshoot call signaling, media issues, QoS, and network interactions affecting voice quality.
              • Experience with Python, Powershell, or similar scripting languages.
              • Familiarity with automation frameworks or tools such as Ansible or Terraform is a plus.
              • Strong analytical and communication skills with a commitment to operational excellence.
              • A focus on automation, efficient engineering, and cost conscious design.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$64,000 and CA$106,000
