Senior Project Controller
Location: Houston, TX or Charleston, WV
Reporting to the Manager of Project Controls Growth, this role focuses on comprehensive cost management for capital projects. The Project Controller will handle budget monitoring, forecasting, and controlling processes, including purchase requisitions and invoice attestation.
Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Cost Management:
- Ensure accurate cost placement through accounting transfers.
- Maintain and manage work orders using SAP and PowerPlan.
- Initiate projects within SAP/PowerPlan and oversee requisition closeouts.

Cost Tracking & Forecasting:
- Use Omega 365 PIMS and SAP to monitor project costs.
- Coordinate with Material Coordinators for effective materials tracking.
- Partner with Project Teams to review data, aligning commitments, schedules, and risks with project forecasts.
- Define construction cost tracking tied to purchase orders and schedules in collaboration with Project Managers.
- Monitor contingencies, management reserves, and approved budget changes.

Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze, track, and report on financial KPIs, ensuring clear communication with the project team.
- Gather and prepare data for risk assessments and incorporate findings into project forecasts.
- Provide financial reporting for bidding, contract selection, and contract administration.

Project Delivery & Support:
- Implement and adhere to Project Delivery standards.
- Contribute to lessons learned by identifying improvements in forecasting and cost control methodologies.
- Perform final cost reconciliation and ensure proper recordkeeping per requirements.

Health, Safety, & Environment:
- Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in a related field or completion of a technical college program.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in cost engineering or project controls.
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, change management, and contingency planning.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with SAP and Omega PIMS.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to lead, advise, and motivate teams.
- Familiarity with project and portfolio management principles, version control, and change management.
- Ability to interpret and communicate project cost data and findings effectively.
