Title: Senior Project Manager

Location: Downtown Toronto (hybrid)
Duration: 6 month +

About the Project:

Our client is embarking on a large-scale Cloud Transformation initiative focused on migrating from on-premise data centers to AWS and Azure environments. This multi-year program will modernize their infrastructure and fully decommission existing data centers.
They are seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead key migration streams, drive documentation, manage timelines, and ensure successful execution across complex, enterprise-scale environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end cloud migration projects from on-premise to AWS and Azure.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, documentation, and risk registers.
  • Partner with technical teams to validate project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Identify and escalate risks early, ensuring clear mitigation plans are in place.
  • Coordinate across multiple workstreams and align with the PMO on priorities and reporting.
  • Support the decommissioning of legacy data centers as part of the transformation program.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and leadership, translating technical details into actionable updates.
  • Provide program-level visibility into project status, dependencies, and milestones.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 7+ years of project management experience, ideally in infrastructure or cloud transformation projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) — able to challenge assumptions and validate estimates.
  • Proven experience leading data center migrations or similar large-scale modernization initiatives.
  • Strong documentation, scheduling, and communication skills.
  • Experience working within structured PMO environments.
  • Familiarity with tools like MS Project, Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is an asset.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Confident decision-maker with a balanced mix of technical and project management acumen.
