Senior Project Manager – EWMS
Our client in the public sector is looking for a Senior Project Manager to support key program initiatives within an Enterprise Work Management System Program.
Duties
The Project Manager will lead and manage the project team during planning and implementation stages using SDLC /PMI methodologies and be answerable as per following:

- Responsible for the overall success of the project and its implementation; ensure project deliverables and technical solution to be delivered within agreed scope, quality, timelines, and within approved budget.
- Evaluate and recommend scalable multi-jurisdictional business and technical solutions that meet client’s and business requirements in the context of corporate standards, policies and procedures for information technologies and architectures. This includes determining requirements, conducting research and evaluations, and obtaining all approvals and signoffs.
- Lead and manage the project cross-functional team.
- Supervise the day-to-day operation of all assigned staff including the scheduling, assigning and reviewing of work. Monitors, track and evaluates staff performance to ensure adherence to project schedule, budget, scope, and contract terms;
- Identify required project team members and work with the project sponsor and functional managers to secure all project resources. Acquire and manage resources, define roles and responsibilities clearly and communicate to team members. Resolve conflicts within the project between resources, schedules, etc., when delivering working packages and solve any arising problems.
- Create and/or facilitate, maintain, communicate, and distribute project documentation along with required approvals from all stakeholders during the project life cycle.
- Clarify and obtain agreement amongst the stakeholders and team members when required. Coordinate work between the project team members and key stakeholders. Monitor the work progress with deliverable owners and deliverables.

- Provide status updates to project stakeholders including monthly submission project status report via Corporate Service Management. Participate in quarterly variance updates activities as a part of budgeting TS Capital Program Monitoring and Control. Track and resolve project problems, defects and issues; administer the change control procedure.
- Lead and/or participates the preparation of various formal contractual documents such as: Request for Expression of Interest (REOI), Request for Information/Proposal/Quotation/Resource (RFI/P/Q/R), ITAPP, Statement of Work (SOW), Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) if required.
- Manage risks, issues, and changes; maintain Issues Log up to date and detailed enough to be acted on.
- Manage the project cost within the allocated and approved budget. Manage and control annual cash flows and monitor spending rate of project approved budget.
- Manage project stakeholders and their expectations. Serve as a prime point of contact for requested information about the project.
Experience and Qualifications
It is important that the services be undertaken by a Project Manager who can demonstrate specific knowledge, skills and experience in performing similar work for projects of comparable nature, size and scope as detailed below:
- A minimum of 10+ years hands-on experience in large project management and program management in Government jurisdictions and or large private sector organizations.
- University degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance or an equivalent combination of education and/or hands-on relevant working experience
- PMP® Certification from PMI ( with Current Status : Active/ In good standing)
- 10+ years progressive project managing experience working on large-scale information technology projects with traditional and innovative project management processes, techniques, tools across agile, waterfall, iterative methods associated tools.
- 10+ years extensive experience in managing and overseeing cross-functional team(s) during business requirements gathering & analysis, impact analysis, joint-application-design sessions and working sessions to map business processes;
- 10+ years working experience in leading project activities when contributing and overseeing the project documentation deliverables produced by the team members such as business requirements, functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, business process workflows (BPM/BPMN), data modeling blueprints, architecture diagrams, supporting technical design specification documentation
- Experience in a government/public sector setting on modernization and replacement legacy system projects;
- Experience with Contract negotiations, Procurement procedures and Vendor and Contract Management with relation to IT business solution delivery
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills (comfortable & confident communicating at all levels including business partners, leadership and vendors.
- Tenacious and willing to support the team during peak volumes and workloads with various activities.
- Strong in process management and controls to minimize risks exposure
- Ability to achieve business objectives through influencing and effectively working with key stakeholders, including Organizational change management
- Working experience with technical and business teams in supporting Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliance, Security Threat and Risk Assessment (STRA), Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA);

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$95.00 and CA$110.00
