Senior Supply Chain Strategist – Commercial & Supply Chain – Nuclear New Build
Location: Bruce County, ON — 3 days per week onsite required
Type: Long-term contract engagement
The role
The Senior Strategist owns commercial and supply chain strategy for major work packages, from market engagement and sourcing strategy through competitive evaluation and award recommendation. You will lead a small team of commercial professionals and act as the senior commercial voice to project and supply chain leadership.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute commercial, contracting and strategic sourcing strategies supporting major capital work packages
- Lead market intelligence, competitive dialogue and vendor engagement to shape packaging and contracting approach ahead of tender
- Own end-to-end procurement for major service scopes: strategy, tender, negotiation, commercial evaluation, award and contract management
- Prepare and present award recommendations to senior project and supply chain leadership
- Provide commercial advice to senior leaders on negotiations, risk, investment decisions and supplier relationships
- Lead, coach and prioritize the work of Contract Specialists and Contract Administrators supporting your packages
- Drive supplier performance, benchmarking, OPEX/lessons-learned and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure all activity complies with regulatory obligations, licence conditions and applicable quality management system requirements
What you bring
- Four-year degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field
- 8–10+ years progressive experience in commercial strategy, procurement, contract management or project controls
- Greenfield / new build major capital project experience is mandatory — multi-contractor industrial builds (energy, power generation, mining, oil & gas, petrochemical, heavy industrial)
- Demonstrated ownership of large service/construction contract packages and competitive tender processes
- Strong vendor relationship management, competitive dialogue and contract strategy development capability
- Executive-level communication; proven ability to build business cases and influence senior stakeholders
- Experience leading or coaching commercial teams
- Experience in a highly regulated industry is a strong asset
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$110.00 and CA$120.00
