Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator

Job Description:
We are looking for a motivated Senior Systems Administrator to join our clients team and support the ongoing maintenance, optimization and expansion of our monitoring tools and infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone with experience in IT operations, system administration and monitoring tools who thrives in a fast-paced, highly performant environment.
As part of the Systems Reliability and Performance (SRP) Team you will play a key role in maintaining our Enterprise monitoring capabilities, integrating new data sources, and ensuring system reliability and performance of all our critical business applications and member services.
Key Responsibilities
- Help maintain our existing Splunk infrastructure (including system administration, capacity planning, data quality, security and system stability & uptime)
- Design & build new monitoring and automation solutions using Splunk, AWS, and related tools
- Onboarding new data sources & integrate new applications and technologies following our Enterprise Monitoring strategy.
- Support the wider IS Corporate Technology initiatives with Infrastructure & Cloud Monitoring (Cloud metrics, security upgrades, server patching, etc.)
- Build searches, dashboards and reports to provide data insight and enable the business to make informed decisions based on the data.
- Ensure compliance with security and audit requirements
- Assist with triaging ongoing incidents or investigations as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2 to 7 years of experience in IT operations, system administration or software development.
- A good team player with the ability to demonstrate motivation and enthusiasm while committing to team goals and sharing information
- Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations in a high-volume environment
- Good attention to detail with the ability to identify and address the specifics of service requests
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to identify obvious issues and perform initial analysis for problem resolution
- Experience in writing & maintaining Ansible playbooks and/or AWS CloudFormation templates considered an asset
- Experience programming in one or more of Bash, PowerShell, Python, SQL is considered an asset
- Familiarity with Tomcat/Mule or other application server logging in an Enterprise setting.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows environments including shell scripting.
- Related IT certifications (e.g. Splunk, AWS, ITIL) are considered a plus.
- Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to ask the right questions and clarify issues effectively.
- This role is remote-friendly, allowing for flexible work arrangements.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$40.00 and CA$50.00
