Duties:
  • Responsible for generating quality written materials that will attract visitors to their organization’s website.
  • Responsible for writing materials for the website, and they may need to edit content from other writers as well.
  • Help find and/or create images and other visual elements to go along with written materials, as well as ensure that search engine optimization (SEO) best practices are followed.
  • May be responsible for moderating and/or contributing to discussions in the website’s comment section; contributing to organizational social media accounts may be needed as well.
  • An understanding of SEO techniques, excellent writing abilities, and the ability to engage consumers are needed.
  • Often work with other content producers within their organization, excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills are required.
  • Gather and research information that enhances the value of the site.
  • Work with marketing and graphics designers to ensure consistency.
  • Write, edit, and develop web site content.
  • Gather user feedback for website improvement and enhancements.
Skills:  
• Collaborate effectively with lead content designer, visual designers, marketers, and engineers to build solutions that solve customer problems and drive business objectives. We are one big team, and we value everyone’s insights.
• Transform complex financial jargon into conversational, approachable language. Yep, sometimes you’re an interpreter.
• Craft content for high priority, strategic projects. Things like web pages, landing pages, emails, messaging hierarchies, in-product flows, and other marketing deliverables.
• Review and provide feedback on content developed by agencies, marketers, and AI tools.
• Advance a strong point of view, backed up by personal expertise, design rationale, customer data, and industry trends.
• Eagerly share early work, solicit feedback, and contribute to design reviews.
• Work on multiple projects at a time, using strong communication skills to manage time and expectations appropriately. You know where you can have the most impact and you can explain why.
• This is a hybrid position with the expectation that you’ll be in our downtown Toronto office two days a week.
• 5+ years of experience in content design, content strategy, UX writing, copywriting, or a related field. Experience in tech/SAAS is a bonus.
• Deep knowledge of design principles and methods.
• Professional-level proficiency in English (both verbal and written) with the ability to explain highly complex, nuanced concepts in plain, conversational language. 
Education: • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Human-Computer Interaction Design, or another relevant field.

• Effective communicator, presenter, and negotiator.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating content design skills and a collaborative process.
