Our client is a leading manufacturer of high-speed applicators primarily used in the pizza industry. Since 1991, they have supplied production equipment to small wholesalers and the largest pizza producers in the market. The company offers both standard production systems and has an excellent engineering team capable of custom designing equipment for any production requirements.
Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Service Technician responsible for building, installing, and servicing machines. You will perform installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance tasks on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Building Machines:
- Use own tools to assemble, install motors, wire machines, and understand electrical schematics.
- Field Work:
- Install and train customers on equipment.
- Perform on-site repairs, including changing motors, bearings, and belts.
- Troubleshoot and repair machines using wiring techniques; be prepared to spend weeks in the field with a team as needed.
- Provide service and customer support during field visits.
- Manage on-site installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine appropriate solutions.
- Produce timely and detailed service reports.
- Follow all company field procedures and protocols.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Proficiency in using a multimeter to troubleshoot circuits.
- Mechanical skills in assembling parts and machinery.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical components.
- Ability to interpret blueprints.
- Familiarity with reading and loading PLC programs and HMI panels.
- Mechanical background with at least 4 years of experience.
- Strong background in the automotive industry (4 years).
- Ability to interpret blueprints.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Previous maintenance or mechanical experience in the food, packaging, or machinery industries.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Electrical or controls certifications are a plus.
Additional Plusses:
- Experience with food, packaging, automotive, or other machinery.
- Previous field service experience.
