Software Engineer – Credit Technology

ROLE OVERVIEW:
Our client is seeking an experienced Developer with expertise in building, supporting and integrating globally accessible trading infrastructure. The candidate will interact with the quantitative researchers and portfolio managers to outline requirements for optimization and building requisite toolkits. The role entails full lifecycle development including requirement, architecture, implementation, testing, and release. This person will need to be a strong communicator, able to multi-task and have the ability to excel in a fast-paced trading environment. Key responsibilities include:
• Develop and maintain the Credit and Converts analytics and trading infrastructure made up of vendor and internally developed platforms
• Work closely with business users and platform developers to deliver cutting-edge software solutions
• Design a robust holistic process for scheduling and monitoring resources across the platform that integrates with existing proprietary applications
• Strike a balance along the dimensions of feasibility, stability, scalability, and time-to-market while delivering solutions
• Participate in supporting and maintaining the robustness of systems and infrastructure
• Partner with other teams to define and employ best practices for streamlining technology, integration, API development and releases.
• Perform with minimum supervision and exercise sound judgment
• Desire to work in a collaborative environment, enhancing a shared toolset
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
• Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field
• 3+ years of professional software development experience. Financial industry exposure a plus. Financial knowledge in Credit a big plus
• Experience of working with real-time market data, historical time-series data is an advantage
• Experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, Redis, or other server-side technologies is a plus
• Deep expertise in Python a plus
• Very good knowledge relational databases and experience of writing production queries against one or more SQL DBMS, such as PostgreSQL
• Experience with basic DevOps techniques, including CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code, a plus
• Analytical skills – Ability to troubleshoot and logically assess problems and determine solutions
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Documentation skills – ability to represent ideas, requirements, and problems in clear and concise documents
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80.00 and CA$20,000
