Position Title – Software Engineer (Java & AIML)
Expected 12 month contract

Description
Our client is seeking a self-driven, hands-on problem solver to join the Internal Logistics – Core Development Team and support the next phase of their North American Digital Transformation Journey.
This role will focus on designing, developing and scaling mission-critical software solutions that support our client’s North American factories. The successful candidate will work on full-stack applications, data pipelines and AI/ML-based solutions to improve operational efficiency and enable predictive capabilities across logistics systems.
You will be expected to visit the production floor to understand user workflows, gather requirements, validate features, and ensure the software performs reliably in a high-demand industrial environment. You will collaborate directly with internal customers and actively participate as part of our core SCRUM team.

What You’ll Work On
- Build and maintain full-stack applications for our client’s internal logistics systems
- Design and support data pipelines for collection, ingestion, and analysis
- Develop and integrate AI/ML or computer vision solutions into production systems
- Analyze operational data and build predictive or optimization models
- Work directly with shop-floor users to gather requirements and validate solutions
- Support deployment, troubleshooting, and long-term maintenance
Required Technical Skills Strong experience in several of the following:
- Java Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices
- Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS
- Python for data analysis or machine learning
- SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL
- Kafka, Redis, Event-driven systems
- Docker, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines
- Data engineering, ETL, streaming pipelines
- Machine learning, predictive analytics, computer vision
Nice to Have Technical Skills
- Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or industrial systems
- Time-series forecasting, anomaly detection, or optimization models
- Computer vision, image-processing solutions
- Hybrid mobile app development (Cordova / Android)
- MQTT, TCP/IP, PLC, OPC, industrial integrations
- Legacy Java, WebSphere environments

Education Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related fields
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$50.00 and CA$65.00
