Solution Architect – Infrastructure
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Solution Architect – Infrastructure creates or arranges the creation of reusable system design
components including:
• Project solution architecture models for procurement / buy
• Project solution architecture models for construction / build.
RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to):
• Solution specification development
• Solution architecture development
• Logical architecture development
• Physical architecture development
• Solution procurement system architecture guidance
• Quality Assurance
• Current state assessment
• Current inventory
o Network, Servers, Storage & Back-up, Data Centre etc.
• Target solution architecture
o for procured solutions
o for constructed solutions
• Solution technology / infrastructure architecture
• Reports on future recommendations (including budgetary information)
• Contribution to concept, methodology, component definition, improvement
• Contribution to industry directions and best practices
o Contribution to documenting the current ICT environment and future architecture strategy
(1-5 years)
• Develop strategies for data placement and sharing in enterprise-wide IT ‘infrastructure’ initiatives
involving significant business re-engineering, legacy systems, commercial off the shelf solutions, etc.
• Lead or facilitate the development of logical analysis and design level IT ‘infrastructure’ architecture
artefacts as required
• Lead or facilitate the development of collaborative, enterprise, or program / line of business
taxonomies
• Establish enterprise IT ‘infrastructure’ integration requirements
• Review IT ‘infrastructure’ architectures, provide sound recommendations for improvements
as needed
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Education & Certifications
• TOGAF certification
• Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) certification recommended
• Demonstrated record of continuous improvement
General
• 5 year’s experience with VBCsharp
• Experience developing or maintaining a .NET class library
• A solid understanding of SOA oriented design principles
• A solid understanding of application vulnerabilities and countermeasures
• Experience producing secure, excellent quality code
• Broad understanding and experience with Microsoft Windows and other Microsoft technologies
• Ability to work with a team as well as independently to complete deliverables within established
timelines
• Demonstrated expertise in developing leading-edge enterprise solutions by using the most recent
Microsoft .NET Framework
• Knowledge of SQL store procedures (transact SQL)
• Knowledge of entity frameworks
• Knowledge of SQL reporting services

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$110.00 and CA$120.00
