SCOPE
The Solution Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing technology solutions that meet business requirements and align with the organization’s strategic goals. This role involves working closely with stakeholders, including business leaders, developers, and project managers, to ensure that solutions are technically sound, scalable, and cost-effective. The Solution Architect provides technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept through to implementation and support.
DUTIES
Develop a technology roadmap and bring in business ideas to the public in the form of web applications and APIs for an enterprise size company surrounding integration technologies that include Data power, IBM MQ, IBM ACe, IBM APIC, Soa suite, IBM APIM and EDI Integrations. With consideration given to kakfa/confluent and other event processing technologies.
Will need to work with business to do discovery and IT reviews
DURATION AND POTENTIAL START DATE
Targeted start date: September 30th, 2024
End date: September 30th, 2025 (1 year with the possibility of extension)
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
Technical Skills
• Integration Technologies: Expertise in IBM DataPower, IBM MQ, IBM ACE, IBM APIC, SOA Suite, IBM APIM, and EDI Integrations, Kafka/Confluent
• Cloud Services: Proficiency in primarily AWS but also knowledge in Azure, Google Cloud, and their integration capabilities.
• Programming and Scripting: Knowledge of Java, J2EE, SQL, XSLT, Linux/Unix shell scripts.
• Security: Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
Architectural Patterns:
• Familiarity with designing scalable and robust systems using various architectural patterns.
• Layered (N-Tier), Microservices Architecture: , Event-Driven Architecture , Client-Server architecture , Service Oriented Architecture
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
• Systems Thinking: Ability to model complex systems and design coherent architectures.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Business Acumen
• Strategic Thinking: Aligning technology solutions with business goals and strategies.

LOCATION OF WORK
Hybrid – 2 days per week in office
Office location: Preference is Ottawa, Ontario however open to Toronto, Ontario as well.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80.00 and CA$120.00
