Position Title: Solution Architect

Story Behind the Need
Business group: Global Banking Architecture – enterprise architecture team supports project delivery and best practices; Delivers and maintains key business and technology architecture artifacts (e.g., technology standards, best practices, business architecture, technology reference architecture, & others); Provides architecture advice and guidance for programs / projects strategic enablement; Delivers architecture and technology strategies for specific programs including capability assessments, technology roadmaps, target state technology vision, and modernization strategies; Provides enterprise-wide architecture governance
Project: Enterprise Reference Architecture – Delivery of the Enterprise Reference Architecture is an internal audit related work item with a strict delivery deadline that requires additional resources to complete on time. This ERA will initially focus on technical capabilities and must align terminology and document organization with the latest industry trends. Excellent communication skills are a must as the candidate will need to reach out to VPs and chief architects across the bank.

Typical Day in Role:
- Define and document the structure, connections and relationships of business processes, organizational work groups, data models, applications, user interfaces, applications interfaces, infrastructure, and network topology.
- Provide standards, guidelines, and statements of direction for IT system architectures, establishing a framework that constrains the design of systems for the purpose of integration of systems and accessibility of data supporting various business processes and functions.
- Define, design, and develop the enterprise systems information architecture to enable cross functional operational reporting and performance optimization.
- Identify strategic opportunities and drive cross-business and cross-functional change.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise and solution architecture, with demonstrated understanding of applications, structure connections, relationships of business processes
- 10+ years’ experience to demonstrate an understanding of ITIL and SDLC
- 10+ years’ experience in business system application design, development, and installation
- 10+ years’ experience designing and implementing advanced application architectures
- 10+ years’ experience in planning/architecture development and support.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- FI / banking experience an asset
- Experience with BIAN and business capability modelling
- SharePoint management experience
- Experience with client
Soft Skills Required:
- Strong communication skills to be able to present to senior stakeholders
- Documentation skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree – in Business or Management Information Systems an asset
- Solution/ Enterprise Architecture certifications an asset
Best VS. Average Candidate:
Strong senior technical Solution Architect who also has strong soft skills to be able to communicate with senior stakeholders; should be able to host workshops, gather information and work through solutioning with all parties, with minimal hand holding
Candidate Review & Selection
2-3 rounds – MS Teams Video Interview – potentially in person for 3rd /final interview
1st – with HM – 45 minutes – technical + behavioral
2nd – with VP – 45 minutes – technical + behavioral
Potential 3rd – with broader team
