Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Sourcing Specialist – IT to act as a strategic partner to Technology and Business leaders. This role leads complex IT sourcing initiatives with a strong emphasis on negotiations, development of sourcing strategies, and execution of high value agreements. The role is accountable for driving cost savings, operational efficiency, and business continuity across IT services and software portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end to end strategic sourcing initiatives for IT services and software, including sourcing strategy development, supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and contract execution.
- Develop and implement IT sourcing and category strategies aligned with technology roadmaps, business priorities, and enterprise cost reduction and efficiency objectives.
- Lead and execute complex negotiations, including:
- Systems Integrators (SI) and large scale transformation programs
- Managed Services and outcome based delivery models
- Enterprise and mission critical software agreements
- Complex Statements of Work (SOWs) with layered SLAs and service credits
- Partner closely with IT and business stakeholders to support demand planning, forecasting, and sourcing decisions that ensure service continuity and risk mitigation.
- Apply market intelligence, benchmarking, and cost modelling to inform sourcing strategies and strengthen negotiation outcomes.
- Drive contract utilization, value realization, and savings delivery through governance, performance metrics, and ongoing supplier engagement.
- Support Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities, including performance monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement within IT / Technology environments.
- Proven experience leading complex negotiations for IT services and software, including Systems Integrators, Managed Services, and enterprise scale agreements.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and execution of sourcing and category strategies for IT portfolios.
- Strong background negotiating complex IT Statements of Work (SOWs), pricing models, SLAs, and commercial frameworks.
- Experience delivering measurable cost savings, efficiency gains, and continuity of service through sourcing initiatives.
- Strong ability to manage and influence senior IT and business stakeholders in complex, matrixed environments.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required:
- University degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering or related field
- A minimum of five (8) years of progressively responsible and related sourcing experience in the TIS Category, specifically Software, Hardware and TIS services.
- Superior communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills, with strong influencing and persuasive talents
- Experience negotiating substantially large Software, Hardware and TIS service agreements and managing sourcing initiatives.
- Ability to monitor and manage supplier relationships and performance with minimal supervision
Preferred:
- A postgraduate qualification or MBA
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) / Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation or equivalent is an asset

- Stress levels can be above normal as the work is highly visible and deadline oriented. Numerous, often competing interests must be managed concurrently while negotiating/influencing.
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $48.00 and $53.00
